As per usual, I hope you all have had a nice Third of Advent weekend.
And take a look at this lovely personal card that Carin in Spain painted and then sent me!!
I just love it. I’ll frame it, Carin!! THANK YOU!!!
Friday night, I did make my absolutely beloved Jansson’s Temptation. For all the non Nordic readers (might be one, or two ...haha) it is a potato casserole made with potatoes (duh!), heavy whipping cream, onions and canned sprats. You buy the brined sprats in a can and the flavors of this brine are unique.
I, for one, LOVE it!! Peter is not as keen as I am.
So I am making one part of the casserole for me, with sprats. And the other without. However, the brine and cream mixture is the same for both.
I did not take any pics at all.
Bad me, bad!! I am a bad social media person at times. Hahaha.
Saturday morning Peter and I headed for one of our really big shopping malls, Tysons Corner Center.
Tysons is the biggest mall in the entire DC region. I used to work there as a visual merchandiser way back then (at the department store, Lord&Taylor).
Peter and I got lots of good stuff, especially for Karolina.
In the evening, I made a turkey dinner. Yes, I did! We ate the turkey with our favorite side dishes,—sweet potato casserole and creamed corn and of course, the bread stuffing. Lovely!!!
It felt like a very Christmassy weekend food wise.
And, otherwise.
Sunday, another shopping day.
Peter and I took off for the Premium Outlets in nearby Leesburg.
We spent almost half a day there.
Yes, got a few things, of course.
In the afternoon, I had a Blogger-Facetime-Meet Up with the same gang as last time. This time around we were showing off our xmas decorations. Very nice.
OH and Peter and I watched a really good Christmas movie, Red One, Sunday night. Here in the US you’ll find it on Prime.
It was fun and different in every way. Lots of action—yea … go figure when Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans play the main characters. JK Simmons plays a very cool Santa Claus.
And, you’ll even find Krampus in this movie as well. So fun!
All right guys, I am getting very close to being finished with all my Christmas gifts.
Lovely.
I hope you all are in synch as well.
Have a nice Tuesday!
