Good morning Tuesday!!
Did you all have a good weekend?
Do you feel ready to tackle yet another February week?
Let’s do this!
Friday morning treat for me, hot chocolate and marshmallows. No, I did not really enjoy it on my deck in the ice. This was solely for The Gram, haha!
We had a nice weekend, but a wintry one at that.
However, I think the previous weekend (and yesterday) will be this winter’s last hurrah.
One never knows, though. We have had gruesome winter storms in March before. But, this week WILL be a mild one. That is kind of GOOD, because it will melt away all the NASTY, NASTY ice we are dealing with by the moment.
On Saturday, we had the weirdest kind of ice sheet over the snow. Like a silver shield of ice, I have never seen anything like it. IT was absolutely impossible to walk on the golf course on the snow. SLIPPERY as can be.
COLD, but sunny.
Yesterday I slipped and fell during my morning walk.
The walk started so good, the paths were cleared and I could see the icy patches well in advance.
BUT, it started to snow and that snow stuck immediately to the surface since it was so cold.
And with that, all the ice got covered under a thin layer of snow in front of me.
I walked on a street, and turned a corner and ALL of a sudden I was on the ground. ALL of me, just backwards.
SO awful, I could hardly raise myself up again since it was SO slippery.
I hurt my bum, let me tell you! And I can feel it in my shoulders and in my neck. I also feel it in my left hand.
Damn. It turned out OK after all, it could have been so much worse. My head did not hit the ground, thankful for that at least.
The rest of the walk was awful, the snow fell and it got harder and harder to see the ice. This was—by far—my worst walk this winter.
But, yes, the weekend was cozy.
I am such a coziness-narc. And Fridays and Saturdays are the best nights for us narcs!
AM I right or am I RIGHT!!
I love it.
Peter and I enjoyed a surf and turf fondue here at home (where else?) on Saturday night.
I made a bullion out of veggies. beef stock and red wine.
We boiled filet mignon, shrimps and veggies as we were sitting by the fondue pot. I had also made several dipping sauces.
A perfect dinner on a cold night.
I am signing out for today!
Have a great Tuesday!
