And today we are taking off!! Karolina and I are off to Scandinavia, off for almost 8 weeks. Are we ready to go? Are we all set?
Good question, I am not really sure. I HAVE a cold, not feeling all that great. I am not packed yet, but I will finish it up as soon as I have posted this. Karolina is doing fine! She will be sleeping for many more hours.
Then we have the Washington DC summer weather. Almost every afternoon we're sure to get a summer storm which produces violent thunder storms. We had a huge one yesterday, we had one on Sunday, one on Saturday etc. Those storms happen almost daily when the weather is hot and humid. I am so not ready for on of those storms today. I remember a couple of years ago when we got hit with one of those storms. We were on the plane, on the runway, ready to go when a huge thunderstorm rolled in and grounded us for four hours. We were sitting on the plane, on the runway for all those hours with nothing to eat or drink but water. We had to be ready because we had to take off on a moments notice if the Dulles tower gave us the thumbs up. And sure enough, at 10 PM we took off into a little, safe pocket in those enormous thunder clouds. Turbulent? Not so bad. Delayed? OH yes, four hours. That caused problems in Copenhagen when we had to re-schedule the flight to Stockholm. I don't want a reprise of that, thank you very much.
I don't like to fly all that much, so I am anxiously gazing at the sky all day long before a flight. How do the clouds look? How windy is it?
How turbulent (hate it) will it be up there?
I think it is almost always turbulent when crossing the Atlantic. Especially when leaving northern Canada, when crossing Greenland. For some reason that is a huge turbulence spot.
But, if all goes well we'll be landing in Stockholm 10:30 tomorrow morning European Time. My brother will pick us up at Arlanda Airport. We will meet DAVID for the first time. David is almost 6 months now! AND so cute!
Then we have the day to relax...In the evening we're heading to Staffan and Lisa's for dinner and some European Cup soccer on the tube.
AND tomorrow Karolina will see her beloved cousins Ebba and Erik as well. My sister Sara is working tomorrow night so I don't think I'll see her :-(. Yes, yes, and then our long Scandinavian vacation will start. How lovely!! And in only a short month Peter will be joining us in Österbotten (Ostrobothnia) for two weeks!!!
I am planning on blogging as usual when in Stockholm, and I will try to write a bit of every blog post in English as well. When we arrive in Finland on July, 3, the blog posts will be rarer since there is zero internet connection in the summer house.
But during the first week in Stockholm it will be blogging as usual...
Have a good Tuesday all of you!
My Sweeties rocked out to Guitar Hero last night. They are so cute when they are playing Guitar Hero on the wii together...
Me, and my "new and improved hair" right after it was done on Friday afternoon.

Semesterkramar!
Välkommen hem till Stockholm!!!
Kramar i massor
TACK!!!
KRAM!!
Bye bye!
THANK YOU!! keep on checking the blog!!
I appreciate the whole flower business and everything else...
BYE!!!
