Over the weekend …
I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!
There has been this one dress that I have obsessed over ever since I tried her on for the first time.
She has been living rent free in my head since then.
On Saturday, as it was sleeting outside, Peter and I headed to the biggest shopping mall in the DC area, Tysons Corner.
Lucky for us, Tysons is located only a 15 minute car ride away.
I did work at Tysons Corner myself back in the day when I was a visual merchandiser (dekoratör.) I worked at the department store, Lord&Taylor. That store is no longer around, and that is a shame because they carried the biggest selection of formal gowns in the entire DC-area.
But alas, L&T is no longer around.
However, the department store, Macy’s, is.
They also have a very huge selection of formal gowns.
Karolina and I were there before Christmas and I tried on loads of dresses.
The one I picked is one of them.
She was the one I could not get out of my mind.
I have been back to check her out twice after that first visit. Looked at her, tried her on again … But …
So, Peter and I went back again.
Actually, the first time for Peter, the third for me.
I tried her on, again.
We left the store. I was thinking of her as we went to other stores in the mall, and when we had lunch. I texted my sis in Sweden, and she said-
“I don’t think you should let her go, It is clear that you want her”.
So yes, we went back and got her.
And due to different circumstances we got her, at almost 300 dollars under asking price.
I am sooo happy!
This is the one.
And the designer I like so much, Mac Duggal.
HERE she is!
One day you’ll see me wearing her (and not a 25 year old model wearing a size 2), but that will be in September.
THIS is the one!! Pictures from the Mac Duggal homepage
But other than that, she’s good to go.
Peter bought his tuxedo, too.
Listens to this, it was cheaper buying one than renting.
Isn’t that something!
But thanks to Peters’s co-worker (who’s also in the wedding hooplahoo right now) and a flash sale at Macys (yes, the same store) Peter bought his tux online.
And yes, cheaper than renting.
It was Peter’s co-worker who happened to discover said flash sale. He let Peter know right away. So thank you, co-worker!
Peter will have to have his altered as well, of course.
I am planning on seeing a seamstress in July, or August.
By then, I have lost the weight I want to lose.
Yes, that process is going well thanks to the old and tried Weight Watchers. Every time I want to lose weight I rely on their program.
WW fits my lifestyle very well.
I combine WW with intermittent fasting (8:16 method).
And even though I am a menopausal woman I do manage to lose weight. Thankful for that.
Yes, yes … I know … A controversial subject.
We are all different, but I feel better about myself when I weigh less than I do now.
I have about 15 more pounds to go (or about 7 kilos).
Also there is "no size fits all" when it comes to diets. It is so personal, we are all different and one has to find the one that is working best for oneself. Nothing is right, nothing is wrong.
I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!!!
Have a very nice Tuesday!
