The hunt for the perfect hamburger!

Good morning all y’all!

Tuesday again!
The weekend just came, and went.

All good here.
I hope all of you have had a good weekend as well.

Peter and I took on a city walk Saturday morning.
We parked our car in Georgetown, and we hiked up to Massachusetts Avenue in North West DC along the Rock Creek Park Trail.  Said trail was packed, as one can imagine an urban path would be.

Very leafy streets and lots of Embassy residences are located right here.

The mission for this hike?
TO taste the BEST hamburger in DC. One of “our” YouTubers, DMV Adventures (this guy specializes on DC, Maryland and Virginia locations), had a video recently where he tried out the best burger places in DC. And the best one, according to DMV, is found at Duke’s Grocery. So Peter and I aimed for that as we walked thru the gray DC morning!

Now we have reached the neighborhood of Dupont Circle in DC.

WE really did get our steps in. Always a good thing. We hiked by numerous embassies on our way to Dupont Circle. It felt good being out and about, My knees behaved, very thankful for that!

The Proper Burger at Duke’s Grocery.
Did it live up to the hype? I would say so. It was delish!!
So worth the long walk. Also, a good thing that we worked for this burger, haha.

The French fries were so tasty as well.  Peter and I shared a serving of those.

Afterwards we walked back to Georgetown.
We hung out by the Potomac River for a bit watching some rowing competitions.
In the evening I made a really, really, really GOOD tomato soup. It is made out of roasted veggies, mostly tomatoes, but also a lot of peppers, onions-- and a whole bulb of garlic. No cream whatsoever, so it is a healthy version of this soup.   We enjoyed the soup with a grilled cheese sandwich.

Back by the Georgetown water front again!

Also, it is October Fest times, so we started both happy hours-- here at home--this weekend with a pretzel.   We dipped the pretzel in melted cheddar cheese and honey mustard dressing. DELISH!!!!

Sunday afternoon us Bloggbrudar had a little chat via FaceTime.
Always nice and good to see the other Swedish bloggers in this group of ours. The theme this time, opposites.

Sunday it was also time for another long, local walk for Peter and I.
And again, my knees did behave. Again, very thankful.
The temps are still like if it were summer.  I am so tired of the warm weather now.  Make it stop, haha!

With this I wish you all a good Tuesday!!
