We skipped town!

Good morning Tuesday!

I hope your weekend was a very good one.

Peter and I celebrated HIM, and his 60 years on this earth, from Thursday night to midday Sunday, haha. We did have SUCH a pleasant weekend.

Yes, we did skip town …

We went to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. It takes about three hours driving there. I haven’t been to Rehoboth since Karolina was born. So yes, it was nice going back there again.

Rehoboth is a typical American east coast beach town. But if you compare it to nearby Ocean City (Maryland) it has a lot more charm.

OC is full of high rise hotels, crazy traffic and loads of people. Rehoboth has soooo much less of that. And, Rehoboth is very, very including as well. I love that.

We stayed in a super nice hotel. We visited State Parks and we hiked. Yes, we got LOADS of steps as we were walking along the boardwalks and the streets of Rehoboth as well.

And, we DID enjoy fantastic foods and drinks.

The weather was so-so. 

It was not that warm, and it was windy. BUT some crazy people spent time laying on the beach. We only spent time in the pool. There is no way I would have sunbathed on the beach. I think it was around 64F (18C) on Friday. OH, and windy!

Peter and I started our trip with a longish hike at Cape Henlopen State Park.  It  was so incredible lovely to be next to the Atlantic Ocean again. I love being by the water. And I feel right at home. My whole being relaxes by the ocean, Peter feels the same way.

But let me show you our weekend in pictures.

These beauties were blooming everywhere.  According to Google they are blackthorns. Or as we know them in the Nordics, slånbär.

All right folks, among the best tuna nachos we have ever had.  It was divine beyond!!!

OOPPPSS ... are YOU surprised in the slightest? Of course not, crab cakes!!!
And it was the day that the Stockholm team Djurgården made it into the SHL league again! GOOD goodie goodster!  Peter wore the shirt proudly as my brothers rejoiced in Sweden!

Peter is walking on a nature trail in nearby Bethany Beach.  This trail was infested by mosquitos.  I can only imagine how gruesome it must be here in the dead heat of the summer.

Now we've made it to Delaware Seashore State Park State Park.  Lots of fishermen here.

Strong, strong, STRONG currents as the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian River Bay.

Lots of fishermen, and a few ladies, are fishing in these choppy waters.

The strait here is sooooo very turbolent.

This is a view I can live with.

Loveliness on the sand dunes.  And I have zero clue what these blooming bushes are called.  Google cannot help me.
