I hope your weekend was lovely and good in every way.
Peter and I took the Metro into DC early Saturday morning.
As did thousands of others from near and far.
I do not think I have ever seen these kind of crowds in DC before, except on The Fourth of July and at The Womens March back in 2017.
It felt like the entire world was in DC this very Saturday.
Let me tell you one thing, we are so glad we did not take the car downtown.
Well, the reasons for the crowded city this very Saturday were a few things.
* All the cherry blossoms by the Tidal Basin were in full peak! And that was the reason the hubster and I were downtown.
* The Kite festival on The National Mall drew a huge crowd.
* The Washington Nationals played baseball for the first time this year.
* The weather was unseasonably warm, it was actually downright HOT.
All of the above made for the perfect storm.
The Metro was packed with people despite the early morning, and when Peter and I departed the train at the Smithsonian station, so did pretty much everyone else as well.
We walked down to the peaking cherry trees surrounding the Tidal Basin.
And my GOD, the crowds.
It was almost impossible to find spots were one could photograph somewhat in peace, haha.
The weather was sort of cloudy the entire day, and thank God for that! If it had been sunny, it would have been almost unbearably hot.
Most of the photos in today's post are taken with my Canon DSLR, except for the selfies and a few more. It was fun playing with my real camera again.

The cherry trees were on point.
How many cherry trees are growing around the basin? … Well, brace yourselves, it is approximately 3.800 trees.
So, you can only the imagine the beauty when all these trees are in full bloom. It looks like a fairly tale.
But, one had to deal with the crowds.
After that we walked to The Wharf in DC for lunch.
And guess what I had for my meal?
YUP, you’re SO darn right, a crab cake sandwich. It was good, but not as good as my three previous ones, haha.
Still, totally good.
In Georgetown, we had to stop for a beer before we walked over the Key Bridge to Rosslyn, VA.
It was so hot, and I am not a beer girl, but when I am about to burst of sweat I'll gladly drink a beer. And some water, of course.
Needless to say, we were quite tired and hot as can be, once we returned home again.
In the evening, we hung out with a glass of red on the deck and ordered a pizza.
I hope you all have enjoyed this picture bomb.
Have a very good First of April (watch out for people trying to fool you, haha).

Hon kanske vet bra. Supercoola ju!!
