And help us all now, time flies way too fast!
I just want to enjoy this precious time before Christmas AS much as I can!
Peter and went shopping at a German grocery store this weekend. Said grocery store also sells a lot of Nordic foods. So, now I have a bunch of julmust (Swedish Christmas soda) here at home, I have Grebbestads ansjovis (spelt) and I have Abba's pickled herring.
And, some other little random stuff that got to come home with me. I am very thankful that I can find Nordic foods here and there. IKEA has none of this anymore, so there’s that (and that SUCKS). I also have an order in waiting from a Swedish store in Pennsylvania that is getting ready to be shipped. That order contains skumtomtar (Swedish x-mas candy) and some other goodies that I want/need for the season.
I have re-disovered my old camera, my Canon. Yes, the dslr that I used before the iPhone camera took over my life.
Yes, iPhones take super pics and they are always with you. BUT you cannot take all pics with a camera phone (and get decent results). I, for one, think it is hard to shoot ambiance pics with an iPhone. Well, you have to edit them afterwards (which is perfectly fine, of course) to get that cozy feeling in them.
So, I had a little run with my Canon this weekend. I had the most fun with my 50 mm lens. I am glad I have found my old love again. Yes, the iPhone camera is fantastic and I love the convenience. I am pretty good at taking pics with my iPhone (no bragging here, but I have learned some the tricks of the trade). But if you really want to have a blast, and take the cool photos, then it is Canon to the rescue. I’ll use both my cameras going forward, but Canon is not going to sit idle for long, so there!
My skinny Christmas tree. The circle in the background is the candle in my four armed Advent candle holder.
I hope you all had a wonderful First of Advent!
I wish you a good Tuesday!
