I am back from my hiatus.
I hope you guys, who have celebrated Thanksgiving, had a very good one.
And, I also hope that all of you had a good First of Advent.
’Tis the Season!
Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, First of Advent and Cyber Monday have all come, and gone.
Christmas will be here before we even know it.
Damn how fast time will fly from now on. No, I am not a fan of that. Please, please can we just anchor time for a while …
Karolina and Mike have come, and gone, as well.
It was so nice having them here. The next time we’ll see Karolina will be in about three weeks, so that feels nice.
Thanksgiving Day was good, just as it aways is.
Peter and I did the regular, breakfast in bed, fixing the appetizers and then it was off to Melinda (Peter’s sister).
Karolina and Mike met us there as they arrived straight from New Jersey. Then it was time for the big dinner and that is always so good, and SO filling. The food coma afterwards IS real.
Black Friday was good as well.
We are not spending that day shopping, oh no … We had lunch with friends. Then we had to go home to watch a movie (the movie theater in Reston Town Center is undergoing huge renovations. It will turn in to one of those dine-in movie theaters), the movie we watched this time was “See how they run” (a true whodunit old-fashioned tribute to Agatha Christie kind of movie). We all liked it. You’ll find it on HBO MAX.
THEN we took off for a Happy Hour at our good friends, Susanna and Marc’s, house. And finally, we ended with dinner in Reston Town Center before we all headed home again.
Saturday we got our TREE! So now Christmas really is in my house. Lovely.
You may remember that Peter and I rented an Airbnb right before Thanksgiving. Said house is located right by the Shenandoah River in Front Royal, Virginia. The house was nice and comfortable, a bit musty (that old summer house smell, ya know) and well equipped.
We spent one night at this place, it must be a perfect place to rent in the summer, or in early fall.
The river would be such a nice place to cool off in and hang out by. NOW it was a bit too cold for that … TO say the least.
All right, come along and see how it looks!
This is a living area on what I think was once a porch, now it is all built in. The styling is so retro.
This flag made me happy!!
I wish you all a very nice Tuesday.
