Fall galore as well!
Actually, I think our fall is a little bit past peak by now. We are entering that phase where the trees get more and more barren each day. Strong winds are not helping very much either …
OH well. It is November, after all.
Peter and I have been walking as usual.
We went to Georgetown (DC) to take a nature walk along the Capital Crescent Trail on Saturday. It was a bit cloudy, but otherwise nice.
BUT, we did get caught in the rain on our way back to the car. And, it got windier and and windier. Not so pleasant.
WHAT kind of "nut" is this? It is HUGE! DO you know? I am clueless.AND thanks to a very nice reader I have learned that THIS fruit is called Osage apple (sometimes Osage orange). It is a member of the Mullberry family, it is edible according to Wikipedia. However, it does not taste very good due to a bitter taste. THANK you Elisabeth O for letting me know!!!
And, as we drove home the sun broke thru the clouds. This is the street right outside my neighborhood. I am so in love with this street in the fall.
On Sunday we decided to walk to Reston Town Center.
We usually take the car when going there. It takes us about 40+ minutes to walk to The Town Center. Our goal for the day was to enjoy a poke bowl at Poke Hub.
I am SOOOO in love with Poke Bowls by the moment.
I love ahi tuna, and the whole lovely, bowly combo that creates the perfect poke! DELISH!!
We took another trail home, the W&OD trail. This path used to be a railroad a long time ago, but now it is a multi use trail that runs from Leesburg, Virginia to Mount Vernon, Virginia.
We took an even longer route home, so we were out and about for almost three hours.
It felt good, of course.
I hope your weekend has been good.
Have a great Tuesday, ya hear!!
