It is fall! For reals, it really IS fall now. Even here where I live.
Yes, nature might still be mostly green, but there are more and more fall colors peeking thru! I love that! Pretty soon all of nature will be on fire.
I have got to say that fall is my favorite season.
When I moved to this part of the US—a long time ago—I really learned to love fall. The warm days and the cool night. The weather is usually sunny during the fall here in the Mid-Atlantic states.
All pics are taken by me during my morning walks during the past week and yesterday. This is a kayaker on Lake Thoreau in the mist.
The neighborhood The Wharf in the early morning.
We have had a long summer.
Last week I think I mentioned that we still had our AC going strong night and day. NOT so anymore. We switched the button to OFF on Sunday.
I love this time of the year when you don’t need either AC or heat.
However, our house is chilly now. I can admit that.
Lake Audubon is lovely, as always. Pretty soon all these trees will become a symphony of golden notes ...
Friday morning by my very favorite bench by my favorite lake, Lake Audubon.
This morning as I ventured out on my PW it was 48F (8C).
For the very first time this season, I wore mittens and a scarf. And, yes, if felt so right! It was such calm, clear morning as well.
The Van Gogh Bridge and the Heron House.
So, this is how it looks here right now.
The fall colors are not very advanced. YET!
But, it is indeed fall in the air now.
Autumn has arrived.
And … yes … this chick is turning her closet this week. BYE bye to the summer clothes. And welcome to the fall and winter clothes.
Let the true Annika-style commence!! :-)
A floating veranda? Yes, please!!
Have a very good Tuesday!!
