I hope you all have had a good weekend.
Damn, the weekend went fast as … I cannot even fathom how fast time really flies. It is both good (cannot wait to get close to a vaccine and for this s**t to be over with) and bad (because it is never really fun when time is just flying this fast).
Do you remember my Swedish breakfast club, aka Svennefrullen?
As you might remember I have gotten together with a group of Swedish women every Thursday for years and years. I think we are nearing our 20 year anniversary soon …
Anyway, it is a good tradition. Well, as you can imagine these breakfasts came to a fast halt when c-19 entered our world back in March. Of course it did.
BUT, during the fall we have started getting together again once a week.
NO, never, ever inside. Always outside, and ALWAYS with distance.
We still take turns hosting.
It is a blessing with our warm fall weather, thanks to that we can still meet up outside. We hang outside, on our decks or in our front yards. Instead of getting together around 9 in the mornings we have delayed the start with at least an hour. Just to give the day a chance to warm up a bit more.
Right now, we are getting together either Thursdays or Fridays, depending on the weather those days. The nicest of those days gets the price.
Last Friday, Sara would have hosted at her place.
BUT, my car was in the shop getting fixed and inspected so therefore I had no means in getting to her place out in Ashburn.
Sara did suggest she’d bring her breakfast foods to my place instead, picnic style. Yes, good idea! She hosted, and I provided the location and the coffee :-D And that worked out beautifully!!
Also, I have a very fortunate micro-climate in my little front yard. It gets so warm in that south easterly corner, even when the weather IS cold. That’s a good thing, for now.
We might have to use my front yard a lot this winter ... However, we have no idea what we’ll do when the weather really does turn cold-cold-COLD?
No, no and NO we are NOT ready to get together inside.
Sara's wonderful breakfast in my front yard Friday morning.
AND, Peter and I have rigged ALL the outside Christmas lights over the weekend as well.
It feels so good.
Yes, I am almost done decorating now. We’ll get our tree this upcoming Saturday.
It is Christmas in my house. Yet again!!
And, boy, does it feel good!!
Have a good Tuesday!!
