Hello you Tuesday people!
We’re in the SCHMACK middle of fall.
We’re nearing the end of October, and time flies as per usual.
The weekend has come, and gone. It was a beautiful one here in my neck of the woods.
Golden, sunny and crisp!! You know, the perfect kind of fall days.
Peter and I started our Saturday with a long walk.
We bought breakfast at Starbucks, and we enjoyed our lattes and our breakfast sandwiches in the sunshine. No, you still cannot sit inside a Starbucks. Because … you know … covid …
We took a long walk afterwards and just enjoyed the sun, the leaves and the clear blue sky. Beautiful.
In the afternoon, we drove to a winery here in Northern Virginia.
We met up with our dear friends, Susanna and Marc, there.
This winery is one of the more popular ones in our area. I have been there before, but that was six years ago. Since then they have switched the location of their tasting room. Their old location was soooo much better.
There were a lot of people at this vineyard.
Yes, everything was covid safe as all the tables were outside and some of them were closed off. BUT, something was lacking. It was not as cozy as most wineries are.
I am not sure why really. But, I am not a big fan of this place.
I might be picky, too. But the coziness factor is beyond important to me.
Peter stood in line for over 30 minutes just to order our wine and snacks. NOT OK!!!
It took way too, way too long.
The food was good, though. It really was. The wine was totally OK, too.
But, there was something lacking.
Maybe it was simply too crowded?
Not serene enough?
Too busy maybe?
You had a view over the road leading up to the winery, so there was a constant stream of cars coming, and going.
BUT, we are good sports regardless haha. It was a bit on the chilly side as you can see.
In other wineries we have visited, you do not really see the parking lots.
You are sitting in very secluded areas with great views. OH well, now we all know. We will visit another vineyard very soon.
BUT, I’ll pick that one with great care.
No hiking this past weekend.
However, still a lot of walking.
I wish you a good Tuesday!
