Good morning Tuesday!!
And, by this we'll give a shout-out to the last week of October.
It is fall galore in my part of the world. Right now the 2020 fall colors are peaking! It is truly lovely.
I believe that the fall colors have popped earlier this year than previous years.
Outside our place-- facing the golf course-- we have a big maple tree.
For some reason, I have started to document this tree on October, 23 each and every year.
I cannot tell you what prompted it to be exactly October, 23, it just happened. It is good to keep this kind of “tree diary”, at least it is for the nerdy side of me.
2015. So golden, so stunning.
2016. It hardly does not even look as fall ...
Same, is it summer or is it fall? Oh, and for some reason I cannot find the pic for 2017 ... annoying .
Golden maple tree again last year.
Look at the tree this year ... almost barren.
Friday and Saturday were extremely mild here.
Crazy, I think the mercury reached 78 F (25 C) both days.
Friday night was particularly lovely as Peter and I hung out on our deck for a glass of wine before the sun did set.
No hikes this weekend for us, no wineries either.
Just a weekend spent at home.
We did get our flu-shots, though. GOOD. This is my first flu vaccination ever! I felt it necessary to get vaccinated this year. We went to Target to receive them. YUP, to the store … you are right … Here in the US all pharmacies can give you these kind of vaccinations.
It went fairly quick, it was free and we even got a 10 dollar gift card to Target as a thanks for coming in to their pharmacy. HAHA. In other words we made money when we received our shots.
Breakfast omelett at La Madeleine here in Reston. We sat outside.
Sure, we took a long Reston walk as well Saturday afternoon.
It was cold, damp and rainy ALL day. Do I mind? No, not at all. Not even the slightest.
OOOOOO, and some signs of NORMALITY have started to show up!!
I could not believe my eyes when I saw the friendly crossing guard by the schools yesterday.
SHE was there!! JUST like she would have been at any normal weekday morning pre-covid, guiding the young students as they cross the road.
I was totally taken aback. BUT, yes, the schools started to open up yesterday!! NOT for all the students, but for some of the special needs kids. And, I believe some other, small groups as well. The crossing guard did not really know.
This is something that Fairfax County is trying out now for a while.
I don’t know, but this made me very happy!!! TO actually SEE and experience some kind of normality. I do believe that the schools should open up, they have to!
If they do not open up soon, I think we’re in for a failure out of this world. So on that, I am actually agreeing with 45, haha!!
Have a very good Tuesday!
