Life under The Black Umbrella goes on.
I am so over Covid-19 now. I just want to scream; Enough is enough!
Sick of it.
It’s been going on way too long by now. Destroyed so much, taking so many lives, it leaves pure despair in its wake.
Make it stop.
A good friend’s teenager got diagnosed over the weekend. THAT knowledge has affected me a lot.
The teenager is doing fine, teenager just has cold symptoms.
SO, I really hope it’ll just continue like that.
Drop off now, SARS-Covid-2. YOU have done enough effing damage …
Our weekend was HOT!
BUT, that is just the way the cookie crumbles in my part of the world. The summers in the Mid-Atlantic are just notoriously hot and HUMID.
But, y’all already know that.
Another Saturday morning. Another hike. That is just the way it has been this summer. Works for me!!
OFF we go. We're back on the Gerry Connelly Cross County Trail, but another section than last week. This time in Oakton.
Little Difficult Run (the stream) is muddy like a grande cup of caffe latte. That is due to all the violent rains and thunderstorms last week.
I mean, look at the trail!!
Only a few people were out and about. We love to have the trails almost all to ourselves. THE best!!
It was hot. It was humid! AND green!
Fallen tree along the path.
Crossing the creek.
Peter and I hiked for a bit on Saturday. Just a local hike in our neck of the woods. You know, on the trail system we discovered last week.
It was nice, EASY and HOT!!
Valleys and streams.
And a street to cross in the land of suburbia.
Look out for roots and rocks along the trail.
Your avid Saturday hikers.
Follow the signs.
The ferns ARE so light green and so lovely.
A jogger on the path.
A suburban house along the trail.
I had my favorite drink on both Friday and Saturday, Aperol Spritz! THE perfect summer drink!
Good foods were consumed on our deck.
The fan hung out with us on the deck as well. Withouts said fan it would have been unbearable.
All right, a new week it is!
Another week under The Black Umbrella.
