HOW are you doing?
How are you feeling?
HOW are you coping?
I can report that this is just another "groundhog day" amongst many other groundhog days.
Another day in the month that never ends is upon us ...
Our weekend was as good as it gets these days.
A virtual happy hour with our friend Keith and Karolina on Friday night.
BUT, I do have a bit of a hard time with these virtual meetings. It is OK with four people, but anything above four is a bit much.
THAT being said, I do appreciate Zoom etc. IT is so nice just seeing people during these meetings. Technology is queen. But, I think I prefer one on one virtual video calls after all.
So, we also spent a lot of time out in nature.
We took long, local hikes both Saturday and Sunday.
We did order-in for dinner both days. And, yes, that was nice to do so for a change.
We did hang out on the deck Saturday night and it was so very lovely to do so in the evening sunshine.
Saturday, and look at this dogwood by Lake Audubon.
THIS was the first thing that caught our eye as we entered Twin Branches Trail here in Reston. YES, this is a snake you do not want to encounter when you're out and about.
Snakeden Branch in the morning sun.
OH and look at the trees in their light, light green spring glory!
The un-made up truth, this is how we look these days. We use our scarves as face masks as we meet people along the trails.
Dirt paths, sometimes they are the best thing!
Virginia bluebells. I love them!!
WE went grocery shopping, and it made me mad. I am so fed up with this s**t now. I want to scream!!
Masks on, gloves on, shop as fast as you can, no chicken at all, no paper towels, yes there were toilet paper around this time (but Peter and I don't want to hoard. We still have plenty of TP. Someone else needed that TP so much more than we do right now), no paper towels at ALL, no Lysol or antibacterial cleaning supplies to be found, the pasta shelf looked so SAD.
In the beginning of all this craziness a trip to the grocery store made me sad. NOW it makes me ANGRY!!
When will people stop hoarding? WHEN will the restrictions be lifted?
OH, and there is a one-way policy going on as well inside the grocery stores.
ONE way up one isle, and one way down the other. Yup, I get that Soviet-Union-circa-1980-feel while shopping these days.
AND, for you Scandies, look at these anemones! They are the closest thing to "vitsippor" as we get here in Northern Virginia. They make me happy!!
THIS!! I found this glam queen in the woods!! It is a little tree, but it looks EXACTLY like an hydrangea! It must be closely related. Beautiful and so unexpected to find this little garden-beauty in the woods. I¨ll photograph the whole "tree" next time I am walking this trail. Beautiful!!!
All right, I’ll stop here.
Other than that, we are fine.
And you guys, have a decent-or even good- Tuesday under the black umbrella.
