Good morning Tuesday Peeps!
I hope you all had a nice and good weekend.
Peter and I had a very good one.
The weather turned out glorious both Saturday and Sunday.
Peter and I decided to take a walk to Reston Town Center for breakfast Saturday morning. A very good choice.
We crossed most of the golf course, and the course wasn’t THAT crowded in the early morning. Then we'll have to cross Dulles Toll Road on our way to the town center. Yes, it is a good thing there are sidewalks and bridges in the world, otherwise this would have been a bit on the dangerous side, haha.
I have no clue what Peter's pointing at ...
Dulles Toll Road. In the middle you can see the subway tracks.
WE have reached our destination.
Kids learning how to ice skate on the rink in RTC.
What to pick?
I think took us about 45 minutes to walk to RTC. This is really the first time (I believe) we have walked to said town center. Yes, we take the car when going there.
We had breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien. As always, an omelette for me.
Peter had one as well this time around.
We took another route home, along the W&OD-trail. THAT trail is an old converted rail road track that is now transformed into a bike and walking path. You can take this trail ALL the way to DC and beyond. Actually, I believe you can take it all the way to George Washington’s historical home in Mount Vernon.
It is a very popular trail. Especially amongst bikers.
In the evening, we had Peter's dad here for dinner. And, our house was so cold for some reason.
Well, I’ve told you before how cold it gets INSIDE during the winter time.
Here I am sitting by the other one of Reston's two golf courses. No, this is not the one I live next to. This is Hidden Creek.
Late Saturday afternoon it got so cold in the house. Peter is warning up by the portable radiator. We have one on each level.
Sunday, another beautiful day. And, also Oscar Sunday.
SO, we made sure that we got out for a walk.
And, then—mid afternoon—I turned on the TV and indulged myself in ALL things Oscar’s!
I love that.
I love everything that goes with it, the anticipation, the glam, the stars, the movies and ALL that the biggest Hollywood event of the year has to offer.
SO, yes, I was planted on the couch from 15-23:20. Well, I made food and went up to pee every now and then, haha. But, other than that I was Oscar mesmerized.
I love the red carpet, and I judge the dresses. I do. Believe me! That is so much fun.
The more the better.
And, the gala itself, so fun.
There were no big surprises, really. We pretty much all knew who was going to get what.
Parasite turned out to be the BIG winner of the evening, and it made history. Parasite won BOTH Best Foreign Film and Best Film. The first non-english speaking film ever to win best picture.
I have NOT seen this movie. Peter and Karolina have, and Karolina calls it the best movie of the year.
SO, I’ll have to watch it.
Sunday walk by our golf course. Psst, you can see my house in this pic ;-)
This tree grows on the golf course, it is infested by mistletoes. I should really snag one next Christmas :-)
Here I am again, by the golf course.
Speaking of Karolina, she was at one of the bigger parties. Actually, she did attend the party for the movie Parasite at the Soho-house in Hollywood.
SO, one can say that they were INDEED at THE party.
How it was? Let me tell you this much, my girl was beyond happy afterwards. THIS will be something she’ll never, ever forget. Here are a few pics that she sent her old folks …
Karolina and her boyfriend, Mike.
THIS is way cool. Karolina and the actor of Parasite, Kang-Ho Song. He played the poor family's father.-
And, here in the DC-area it is rain, rain and more rain.
Have good Tuesday!!
