Good morning Tuesday!
I hope your weekend was good!
February second is Groundhog Day here in the the US.
THAT is the day when Phil the Groundhog will predict if we’ll see an early spring, or if we will have six more weeks of winter …
I found this sign along during my walk yesterday.
Phil lives in Punxsutawney in Pennsylvania. YES, I know … THAT name of THAT town is almost impossible to pronounce. Let alone, SPELL.
In the early morning on Groundhog Day, the mayor of Punxsutawney releases Phil from his cage, if Phil sees his shadow it will be an early spring. If he does not, it will be six more weeks of winter.
This year I completely believe in Phil!
Of course we’ll have an early spring. IT has already started, after what it seems to be. Yesterday, we had a record high of 64F (18C) here!
THAT is weird.
It has been the weirdest of winters …
SO, Phil will RULE this year, haha.
SO, that was that about Groundhog Day and Phil.
Peter and I took a grey winter walk in nearby Herndon Saturday morning. NOPE, nature is not very pretty by the moment.
Now I’ve seen these winter colors since mid-November.
Snow would have been a welcome break.
BUT, it is kind of calming with the winter colors as well, I'll admit it.
Saturday morning was gray, cold and damp.
We walked in Runnymead Park, lots of trails there to pick from. I appreciate all the trails, paths and to have a good chunk of accessible nature just around corner. I am so lucky to live in this area where we have so much nature in the middle of suburbia.
After our walk we had lunch at a new burger place in Reston, The Capital Burger. AND people, that was beyond GOOD! I think it was the best burger I have ever had!
Frankly, I cannot WAIT to get back there again …
WHEN. CAN. I. RETURN.
Nature in all its glory in the beginning of February.
The colors are boring, yet soothing.
Smoked gouda cheese fries. OMG, so good!!
This is the capital burger, sooooo good. Gruyere cheese, caramelized shallots and aioli.
Sunday, Groundhog Day AND Super Bowl!
A big day, for sure!
We went to Susanna’s and Marc’s place as we always do.
And, it was so nice. I appreciate a good Super Bowl party SO much. This is a great tradition of ours!
THANKS for hosting, Susanna and Marc!
I shot these pics yesterday. LOOK how lovely and blue it IS. Mornings like these give me energy.
Now it is a new week yet again!
I wish all of you a great Tuesday!
