Good morning all you Tuesday people!
I hope your weekend has been a good one.
Christmas is almost upon us. Almost. I am not in any hurry, really. I want time to slow down now.
My weekend was good.
Nice dinners, walks, Christmas spirit and movies.
And, of course, a trip to a fantastic place here in Northern Virginia. A crazy, lovely, wonderful place …
I am talking about Old Lucketts Store in the nearby town of Lucketts.
Peter and I were there last year as well. Right before Christmas. And, do believe me, we have been driving thru Lucketts, and I’ve seen this store (and its surroundings) so many times in the past. I have always wondered about the whimsical, odd house by the country road. But, before last year we never, ever stopped by there while on the road.
Nowadays, I would not miss Lucketts for the world.
It is a remarkable place.
It is hard to explain this destination, really. The whole place is a mix between a flea market, vintage shop, outdoor Christmas market, indoor Christmas store , designer store and furniture shop. Everything is boiled down to an irresistible Christmas experience that you will have to experience in order to fully understand.
If you live in the DC-area, you (and if you love Christmas) you HAVE got to go!
This place is open year round. I have heard that they put on quite an experience for Valentine’s Day as well. And in the summer time, it is supposedly a very, very intriguing place to discover.
Well, people, come with me and find out!
Let’s take a trip, shall we!
Here we are, in this little fantastic corner of Northern Virginia
Whimsical everywhere. I love this idea!
The hubster has found a friend.
And I have found my right element.
This is part of the Christmas outdoor market. You just walk around and look at all the loveliness. And, if you feel like it, you'll buy something that is tickling your fancy.
This is a wonderland for any Christmas lover.
Peter with a very decked out VW-bug!
"Peter, I think we should get another tree"
Beautiful greenery everywhere.
Pretty details everywhere.
Hygge. Outdoor hygge!
And, inside the green Luckett house you'll find the indoor Christmas market and vintage store. You guys, this house has to be experienced to be truly understood. It is OUT of this WORLD!
Peter and I should turn our bedroom to this!
I swear, I could buy so much in this store!
It is right up my alley.
They have a good design/visual team here.
SO much to LOOK at!
I think I might go for an upside down Christmas tree next year :-)
Moose in da HOUZE
The house consists of three levels. And, the rooms inside it are filled to the brim!
I think there is something for everybody here.
Some rooms have lots of natural light.
Funny kitchen towels.
Cute little ornaments in every nook and cranny.
Christmas trees in every color.
As you can imagine, it takes some time walking thru this house.
And, this is another house you can visit on the premises.
There are sheds everywhere outside. You can just walk around a browse and take it all in.
And, here you have another little store.
Photo ops??? EVERYWHERE!!!
This is inside the third big house on the Lucketts grounds. THIS house is AMAZING. Every room is like Christmas has exploded there.
Well, I'll be out sometime after dark. There is just SO much to see, and take in.
Old fashioned ornaments.
These look rather like star boys ...
Yup, how cozy Is this!!!
As you can see ...
... There is a lot ...
... But truly, everything speaks to me ...
Yes, one could have three Christmas trees gathered like this ;-)
A very pretty mantle.
Let's go crazy!
I like the lantern!
Another super cozy room!
And outside everything is decked out to the rim.
Very true :-)
Old vintage ornaments.
Old cars in the mix as well.
There were photo shoots going on all over the place!
Another pretty entrance.
Yes, dear people, that's it. You have been with me to Lucketts in this picture bomb of a post.
You might be asking, did she buy a LOT while there?
NO, she did NOT. One decoration and one candle came with us home. That's it!!!
Have a good Tuesday!
