Good morning new week!!
This past weekend our good friends Lotta and Magnus hosted their annual cray fish party here in Reston.
The party has been a strong tradition since 2003.
It is so very nice to be invited to this treat of a dinner (and party) each and every year.
I mean, this is a party where the cray fish themselves play second fiddle.
WHO can resist ALL the delicious food Lotta and Magnus have made for us?
It is lovely BEYOND!!
And, there is so much work, effort, prepping and planning behind all this.
Just look at all these fantastic foods! Beautiful and OOOO so extremely delish!
Peter and I are so thankful for being invited every year.
It is a true joy.
Sara and sunflowers!
It is good to have a few little kids around. Actually it is very GOOD! Peter, Susanna, Linnea and Marc.
When our kids were little they were there as well. Karolina was 7 years old when this tradition started.
The other kids were/are a couple of years younger than she was/is. Karolina became their given play-leader, and we have many fond memories of skits that Karolina and the rest of the kids put together for us at the end of the big dinner.
I remember that Karolina planned it all out way ahead of the party; this is what we’ll play tonight, these are the skits we’ll be performing, and so on.
Now five of the "younger kids" are in college and three of them are still in high school. And, Karolina herself is--of course--in Los Angeles.
But the memories remain clear as crystal for us adults as we spoke a lot about the olden times on Saturday night.
There are still two little youngsters left, and that is good for the rest of us since we are missing the past a little bit and sometimes tend to be a bit sentimental about it …
It is good to have the little ones around.
Our dear hosts, Magnus and Lotta. Veronica is the girl to the right.
OH and no it is time for DESERTS!!! Just look at all these lovelies!
The cake on the right is a Toblerone-cake. Let me tell you one thing, TO DIE FOR!!
So, another party is wrapped and the guests were SO VERY pleased as always. Thank you Lotta and Magnus!
Here we are the girls!! All Swedes! Anna, Lotta, Veronica, Susanna, myself and Sara!
