I hope you all had a good weekend!
Here in the DC-area we did have a true chill in the air.
The first real fall day of the season arrived on Saturday!
Peter and I turned off the AC in the house! We wore sweaters and felt a bit cold.
People, it WAS LOVELY!!
And also, ABOUT TIME!!
WE took the opportunity to visit a nearby winery!
Doukenie Winery in Loudon County was our destination on Saturday afternoon,
Wineries and fall always go hand in hand.
It was a beautiful fall Saturday.
We’re very lucky to have an array of vineyards to pick from. Well, I’ve told you this before, the wine is nothing to write home about (even though it IS getting better).
BUT, the ambiance and the coziness factors at these wineries are golden!
Yes, this will be a perfect spot.
There is nothing lika hanging outside on a nice fall day sipping red wine and having lunch.
I love it.
It is such a perfect fall outing.
Sweater weather? OH YES! OH FINALLY!!
The winery we visited Saturday is a new winery to us.
And luckily, it turned out to be one of the better ones we have ever visited.
Not crowded at all.
And actually, decent wine as well!
Our good friends, Susanna and Marc, met us at said winery. We ended up having a super cozy afternoon together.
I am already looking forward visting the next one …
However, this upcoming weekend I think we’ll visit a brewery instead. There are plenty of breweries around here also. We have our fair share of distilleries as well.
BUT, it might be a bit rough sipping whiskey, vodka or gin during a regular weekend afternoon.
Or, so I think …
Wine to be ...
I wish you all a great and good Tuesday
I helped myself to a few of these grapes (cabernet sauvignon). SO good and SO sweet.
Huge bees (and I mean HUGE. I think it might have been so called Cikada Killers) feasted on the grapes as well ...
