Another rainy weekend has come to an end.
Can I tell you something?
I. AM. SO. TIRED. OF. RAIN. AND. GLOOMY. DAYS.
Please, please, dear Weather Gods, give us a long strain of dry, sunshiny days now. We do need it.
My newly painted deck needs it.
My soul needs it.
All of nature needs it.
Bring back the sun.
I am usually not easily affected by rain and cloudy days, not at all.
But, now it is starting to eat me.
BUUUUT, The Best Deck (my name for our deck) is back in session and it feels so nice. Now, it would be nice if our weather would let us use TBD (The Best Deck) as well …
As you might remember, Peter and I are not really keen on the color scheme that was forced upon us when it came to the paint color of the deck.
The newly stained deck is AS beige AS can be. Or the color is in fact named Mountain Ash (a nice name for a boring color).
Peter and I were working hard all Saturday on finishing the deck, and setting it up,
for the season.
Both of us realized that we had to get rid of some of our previous beige furnitures. Or, it would look way too bland out there.
So, we did.
As you all can see rusty red is the new accent color for the deck.
And, yes, it feels SO good!
We went to a new store (for us at least) called At Home. My GOOOOOOOOD, what a STORE!! I thought I had died and gone to home-store heaven.
This store has IT ALL! It is a superstore if there ever was one.
It is a truly dangerous place to shop at, because you cannot really stop yourself, at least it is a challenge for me to do so.
They have everything under the sun. If you live in the US, and have this store nearby, just GO!!!
You’ll go NUTS!!
They have a lot of stuff that I like, little knickknacks that speak loudly to me; Buy me, buy me!
Stuff that I like, that you will probably not like as much as I do. But, my quirky and whimsical self like it.
Done and done ... There's been a lot of rain, and therefore the floor of the deck looks kind of dirty.
HAHA, anyway not a sponsored post, unfortunately ;-)
Just me being a bit excited.
On Sunday sweet SALTIS (or, her name is really Anna, of course) came to visit us. It was raining hard ALL day long, and it was kind of coolish. Saltis likes visiting the east coast where she used to live for so many years. Anna lives in sunny San Diego nowadays. She misses all the leafy green trees, and she misses the rain and she misses the gloomy days as well. And, as you all know, we have it ALL in abundance. Saltis and I went for a good cup of coffee in the rain.
And, then we had wine and dinner here at home.
Peter and Saltis ended the night with Game of Thrones. Of course they did!
Saltis does not have a blog anymore, but you can find her on Insta, @saltisinsandiego
JUST look at my neighbor's rhododendron and cute Saltis!
Saltis left for her conference in Baltimore yesterday.
I am SO glad we keep in touch, and I like the fact that she’s visiting me once a year. YAY, Saltis!
Peter and I will go visit her in San Diego one of these days as well, for sure.
ANYHOOO, have a very good Tuesday!
