Yes-- mark my words-- we DID get snow!
Long overdue and highly anticipated snow, as far as I am concerned. We have not had any amounts of snow accumulations to talk about since 2016.
SO, yes, this IS about time!
The snow started to fall late Saturday afternoon, and it accumulated fast.
It turned into a winter wonderland in no time at all.
And I, I was so happy!
I like measuring snowfalls, from start to finish. This time one of my owls had to play the part of the measuring stick. This photo is taken around 15:30 Saturday afternoon.
Peter is enjoying the quietness of the season.
Snow makes me happy, snow makes me jittery (in a good way), snow also calms me.
I admit it, I am a winter girl if there ever was one.
This picture is taken at 8:40 Sunday morning.
My lower patio. I am on my way out to the golf course. The golf course is golden during the winter time (actually, it is golden ALL year long, but it is extra special during snowy days). It "belongs" to us, the people living here, when it snows. Totally crazy about nature and all the beauty that is given to us.
Lovely, fluffy snow ...
Karolina had to work Saturday night, so we were a bit worried about her driving in the snow.
She drove home closer to 02:30 Saturday morning. The bigger roads were OK, but not the neighborhood roads.
But, she made it home without any problems. She took it slow. Slow and steady wins the race …
Sunday the snow continued to fall. All day long.
It turned the world into a true magic winter wonderland .
We hiked to Safeway with our backpacks and bought dinner. Always fun hiking in the snow. We’ve been outside a lot, shoveling, walking and just enjoying the serenity of it all.
The pond on the golf course is almost ice bound, but not quite yet. Good for the geese ...
Kids were enjoying sledding.
A totally un-made-up me on my way home from the store.
SNOW, the loveliness of it ALL!
At 16:30 Sunday afternoon.
It will not last, it never does. The snow will melt way too fast. But, they are predicting a snowy winter. SO, I say, just let it SNOW!!
Me having enough winter? Never!
And, yesterday morning at 7:45. As you can see the owl is almost buried in snow by now ...
Monday morning in my neck of the woods. Sure, sure, sure the schools were closed ...
The creek by my neighborhood.
Have a good Tuesday!
