I’m here again. Not quite back to normal yet, but I am fast on my way …
This has been the cold from HELL!!!
FROM HELL, PEOPLE!
I haven’t been this sick in years. AND, even after a week I am still not all right. My head is still stuffy. I am a little dizzy. And yes, I can smell my cold with every breath that I take. You know that typical “smell” of a cold that you can trace in every inch of your head.
The cough has been the worst. It has been like torture.
I have had couching attacks that have literally made me cry, and I have been THIS close to throwing up x-amount of times.
All of a sudden it feels like I get stabbed by a sharp knife in my upper throat, and then the coughing spell starts. I can not get rid of “the knife”. Those attacks can last a few minutes once they start. Yup, they did show up several times a day. Fun times, folks, fun times …
And let me tell you, after said attacks I do NOT look pretty. I could actually scare little kids the way I look after one of those spells.
The knife stabbings are going away now, thank god. However, I had one last night again ...
Me (in tranquillity) last Sunday before the hellish cold broke out.
Even though I am better, I am far from fine. The littlest things I do make me sweat and make me SO tired.
Like, doing a load of laundry! Hey, I am frigging winded afterwards. What gives?
Or, just going to the store (one sometimes has to shop for necessities despite being sick). After a trip to the store I am spoken for.
Or, after I vacuumed the mid level on Sunday!??? Good grief, it was like I had run a marathon.
So no, I am NOT well!
Power walks and hiking? What a joke, that just have to wait until next week.
My little garden looks like CRAP after this summer. I have so much work to do out there, but that will have to wait as well.
One of my dear readers, Monica, calls this The Stockholm Flu. I am with her, it is like a damn flu. You feel almost as sick as you would if it was a true influenza.
It has crossed my mind a couple of times, is it a cold? Or is this really a flu?
But, my body and joints haven’t really been aching …
Peter got hit BAD as well. And, he’s away on business now. NOT good, but that is the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. He had to leave for this important trip despite the cough and cold from hell.
However, Peter has been to the doctor (Peter has a history of getting pneumonia so he has to see a doctor almost as soon as he gets hit by a severe cold). The doctor gave Peter antibiotics IN CASE the infection went down his airways. And, alas, the infection did go to his airways. So Peter is currently on antibiotics. A good thing. I am not on antibiotics, also a good thing. My cough has not deepened.
Karolina is fine and she’s working around the clock this week.
The weather SUCKS. So when it comes to that part it is OK to be housebound. Rain, rain and more rain.
It has been raining so much in Washington DC this summer. A record breaking summer when it comes to amounts of rain and gray days.
It can stop raining now. We are good. You hear, mother nature?
There are some signs of fall around us. BUT, this pic is over a week old by now.
However, since I was in The Nordic Region for two months I saw no rain whatsoever. Quite the contrary, as you all know.
Tomorrow I will resume writing about my summer vacation.
I hope you ALL are good and fine. AND, may you NOT get hit with “The Stockholm Flu from HELL”.
