Good morning Tuesday! Good morning Tuesday peeps!
Peter and I are empty nesters again.
Yes, Karolina’s senior year at Elon University starts today. The classes start today, I should say. But, we got Karolina settled in on Thursday.
Senior year, my friends, senior year!
HOW bizarre is THAT?
Where did time go?
Heck, it feels like we just moved her in freshman year.
And, now she is a senior. She’ll graduate in May!
Pretty, pretty Elon ... We'll miss you next school year.
This is the last year at Elon University.
This beautiful, great university in Elon, North Carolina.
Karolina is living like a queen this year.
She’s in the nicest student housing I have ever seen!
Sure, it is GPA-based (like all student housing) and Karolina and her friends got a beautiful four- bedroom/four bathroom apartment. I don’t know how many square feet/square meters it is, but it is BIG!!!
I couldn’t help but scream when we walked inside the new apartment.
The kitchen and living room area are so incredible nice.
All girls will have their own little suite with a decent size bedroom and a private, full bathroom. They also have a big laundry room in the apartment.
Windows in three directions.
Let me tell you, life is sweet!
This is the way the houses look at "The Station ..." . In other words, this is where Karolina lives this year.
Move-in-day, the first batch is going in. Our good friend Keith tagged along to help out with carrying and fixing. We had to take a trip to a storage unit as well where Karolina kept her furnitures etc from last year.
Pretty, pretty houses!
They even have a pool! Yes, a pool for the seniors living at The Station at Mill Point!
Karolina lives next to said pool.
I mean, come ON!!
Oh, and they have a club house as well. A nice one at that.
Guess what, they even host wine and art evenings there.
Yup, it is like being in a posh 55 + community.
Yo, people, is a rough life ...
The houses are all two stories, four apartments in each house.
Karolina lives on the second floor.
And, a big, big kitchen with lots of storage and room for cooking. For god's sake, I hope these kiddos will cook!!!
Yes, they even have a balcony with rocking chairs. As I said, life is good ...
Yup, it is the prettiest, poshest student living I have ever seen!
And, sure, only seniors live there.
The club house at The Station. Yes, with an outdoor fireplace and TV. Rough as can be, if you ask me.
Inside the club house.
All I can say is THIS!
-Enjoy it, Karolina. You're not going to have a house like this in A LONG A** time!
Next fall you might be in a five story walk-up with your bathroom and shower in the basement.
SO, you better suck the best out of your senior year!
When you go to the local Target (as you will A LOT on move in day) you'll see Elon stuff everywhere.
Elon was as lovely as always.
Peter and I felt a bit sentimental walking around campus.
Our last year at Elon.
We were looking at all the incoming freshmen (it was move-in weekend for them). It felt like yesterday to us. I remember ALL those moments from when we moved Karolina in, how HOT it was, how physically demanding it was, how weird it felt. All those crazy trips to Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
The convocation, the good-bye barbecue for the new student and parents.
AND, how bizarre it felt leaving her behind as we drove back to Reston again.
Freshmen move-in. This is outside Carolina Hall where Karolina lived her first year on campus.
Kids moving in. Everything is SO incredible well organized. The university has it down to a t.
Now it almost time to drive down for her graduation.
See her recieve her college degree diploma dressed in a maroon and gold cap and gown …
BUT first things first, senior year!
Have a good Tuesday!
