I envy you Scandinavians right now.
I SO envy all the snow you have!
I envy the true winter you guys are experiencing.
Yes, this is the current weather situation. As you can see, no snow at all in sight.
However, it is cold. I like that a lot.
All photos in this post are taken with my iPhone.
I cannot resist braking the ice on water puddles when I am out walking. CAN you resist?
However, I do appreciate the clear blue skies and the sun!
Peter by Lake Audubon on Sunday.
No snow here in the DC-area. None, zero, zilch…
Sure, the temps are “decent” now. It is cold (around 32F, 0C). I am somewhat pleased with that…
However, I am longing for much, much colder temps!
Give me a blizzard already. Give me SNOW!
I want to take a hike in the falling snow. AS it IS snowing!
I want to feel the snow whip my face. I want to feel the wind pester me.
I want to FEEL the elements. I want to BE there. In it!
Call me cray-cray, that’s just me!
When my nose is frozen and my thighs are ice cold I want to return to my warm, cozy house. Drink a huge cup of tea and just enjoy the winter day from inside my home.
ALL the rest of the pics in this post are from LAST year. The Polar Vortex year! I long for this! It was so great to have so much snow, for so long! These pics are also are taken with my iPhone.
I have seen none of the ice porn this year.
Our snowiest month here in the Mid-Atlantic is usually February. And, in the past we have seemed to get a lot of snow around President’s Day, this year that will be on February, 15.
We “usually” get hit by blizzards around that time.
I will just have to see how it goes this year.
One can hope, right?
I would love to live up north during the winter.
I promise you, I would have zero problems in Alaska, or in Canada or in the northern parts of the US.
It would not faze me even the slightest. I’d love it.
Or, I could live in northern Sweden without any problems whatsoever.
Just give it to me.
So, dudes, enjoy your Swedish-Finnish-Norweigian-Alaskan-Northern US-Russian-Canadian (or wherever you are in the winter world) winters!
No, we cannot have spring yet. So just give your winters a kiss from me!
In the meantime I’ll keep on hoping and hoping…
