After a hard (but totally lovely) hike in Shenandoah on Saturday, Peter and I took to the hills again on Sunday!
This time we headed to our favorite winery here in Northern Virginia.
There is SO much that I like with this place. Actually, even the wine! Virginia wines are tricky. We have loads and loads of vineyards around here, but the wine is, at its best "so-so".
But, it seems like the wineries learn from their mistakes, and the wine at some of these wineries ARE getting a lot better than they used to be!
Bluemont is beautiful!!
It is in a perfect location, maybe 45 minutes by car from my house.
The winery is placed high up on a hill, overlooking farms, mountains, towns, woods, creeks, fields etc.
In the far distance one can see both Reston Town Center and Tysons Corner. And yes, on a clear day it is said that you can see all the way to DC.
The view from where I am sitting at this place is a killer!
I love hanging on one of the decks with a bottle of wine, and a plate of goodies. It seems as if I have this urge to visit Bluemont once, or twice, a year.
So, yes, we were there Sunday. Susanna and Marc were with us as well, very nice.
Wine with friends is so good!
We all had such a nice and peaceful afternoon sipping wine, talking and eating.
And, of course, photographing.
I love living in Virginia Wine Country. I love the fact that we have so very many wineries just around the corner.
It is a perfect fall-outing. Sure, most wineries are open all year, but for me visiting a vineyard is truly a fall thing.
We will visit another winery, or two, before December rolls around the corner.
Oh my how autumn flies...
NO, NO this is NOT a sponsored post (one wishes, haha).

Ja, det är så mysigt.
Älskar just denna tid på året då det är så skönt och friskt ute.
Jag har hört att vi ska få en mild vinter hos mig, men att ni ska få en sträng vinter. Men vem vet?? Vi får helt enkelt se. SNÖ älskar jag, så den vill jag ha!!
