Now we are back again after a wonderful week in The Outer Banks in North Carolina.
The OBX is one of my favorite places in the entire world.
I just love it out there. I love it so much.
It is something with those banks that speak straight to my soul. And sure, it's been like that since the first time I got there many years ago.
I am so lucky that we were able to rent a beach house there.
Hopefully this will be a new tradition for us, to rent a beach house in The OBX every year once Karolina is done with her school year at University. We will just have to see what'll happen after college...
But, now is now.
Peter, Karolina, myself and our good friend Keith rented a four bedroom beach house in the town of Duck.
It was a fairly big house , sure (so are all the houses out there). But, so lovely and newly renovated. It had its own pool and jacuzzi as well.
Simply, a great place to "call home" for a week.
Yes, I can recommend this house if you ever feel like renting in Duck.
The living room. Very nice. Keith and Peter are kicking back.
The kitchen and the stairway down to the bedrooms.
The tv-room was lovely, and so bright and light.
The morning sun!
This is the View from the "Crow's nest" or "Widow's Peek" or whatever you want to call a roof top terrace. The roof top was lovely. I had my coffee there every morning as the sun rose.
The weather. Yes, the weather was simply perfect. It was around 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit every day (27-29 C) and sunny. And, NO humidity!
We did not have a single day of rain.
The water in the ocean? ICE COLD!!! SO damned cold, around 50-60 degrees F (10-15 C). So, no, we did not swim in the ocean a heck of a lot. But we did enjoy the beach, of course.
I shot this picture from the roof terrace while enjoying my morning coffee.
Morning on the beach!
Needless to say, we really did enjoy ourselves.
I love getting away like this.
Thanks for all your likes and comments on Instagram, and on Facebook.
I think it is easy for me taking pictures of the Outer Banks, simply because I love the place SO much!
Our house was also located very close to Currituck Sound (we lived in a very narrow part of Duck). From the western shores of Duck we witnessed the most spectacular sunsets.
A beach shack! I would not mind hanging out here!! Perfect location on the sound!
An outdoor place to do the dishes just outside the beach shack!! Oh la-la, exactly like some other great places by the sea that I happen to know, and LOVE! ;-)
Oh yes. can you imagine hanging here!! I can!!
And the sun set over the Currituck Sound...
Peter's out on one of the decks at "our" beach house. The name of the house? All Decked Out.
Karolina right outside our house.
I'll put more OBX-pictures here on my blog later this week. You know, after all I shot more than 700 pictures. SURE, I WILL promise not to bomb you with all of those pics. But, I'll write a couple of more entries about my beloved OBX.
Early morning on the beach! Bliss and loveliness!!!
