Today’s entry will be short.
I have zero connection to the internet, none. Our modem got knocked in the BIG and huge and SCARY storm we had last week.
I have been without internet here at home for almost a week, and yes, that sucks. It sucks badly for an internet girl as me. So many parts of my life lies online; my blog, my blogging friends’ blogs, my news-papers, my e-mails (not the least). Without the internet I am so, so…LOST!! Disconnected, out of the loop, gone…
In the beginning, the entire neighborhood lacked internet. Starbuck’s was jammed packed with lost souls, as myself, looking for an internet connection at the coffee chain with their laptops in tow last week. It was hard even getting a table at the local java joint, let alone getting a table close to an electrical outlet. I had to move from one store to the next just because I ran out of battery (the Sony Vaio does not have the best battery in the world, for sure).
This past week, I have been able to log on from Ingrid’s house several times. I just take my laptop, walk across the common, and then I sit down in her dining room. She’s working down-stairs, and I am sitting up-stairs. We don’t see each other, at least we don’t see each other much…
I am so thankful to you for letting me use your internet, Ingrid. Thanks!!!
And on Friday, I was able to log on from my friend I’s house…I am so very thankful for that as well.
Thank God for friends with working broadband.
We have spoken to Comcast I don’t how many times the last couple of days, and today Peter finally was able to get some answers. Our modem is “fried”. They think it was caused by lightning. Tomorrow morning a technician is coming here bright and early. He or she is so very welcome! Please, just give me my internet back!!
Due to the frying we have no valid IP-address right now, so therefore I cannot even check my Comcast mail, my lifeline to friends and family!!
Please, people, use my hotmail for now:
kankaglen@hotmail.com
But tomorrow I so hope the IP, and the internet and the broadband will be up and running again.
Naturally I am posting this from Ingrid’s, or from Ingrid’s garden, I should say. It is night time…I am just making sure Blogger will post this at 7 AM tomorrow morning.
My dear friends and my dearest readers…I hope I have internet when you read this post…
Have a wonderful and connected Tuesday…Oh, and stay COOL!!! It was a 100 degrees Fahrenheit here today, that equals about 38 on the Celcius scale, but the heat index makes it feel like 43. It is HOT…
UPDATE:
I am online, but not thru the wireless. The wireless got hit too so we'll need to get a new router today. I cannot get into my Comcast mail at ALL, very frustrating. We have a new IP address so Comcast needs to be contacted and then re-set everything regarding the mail.
IF you need to e-mail me use my Hotmail address since I have no access to my regular mail yet.

Nu har Comcast varit här. Jag är online, men inte wireless. VI måste skaffa en ny router...SUCK!! ALLTID är det ngt skit.
Men online ÄR JAG!!
Ja, vad gjorde man utan AC?
Gå in på min mail över Comcasts webb-sida.
Snap out of it :-)
I am counting on 100% real soon. BUT YES!! It is so aggravating. Drives me NUTS!!!
Just det ordbehandling! Datorkörkort och annat...
Kram!
Kicki:
Hälften är vunnet iallafall :-)
Kram!!
