Oh boy, February is almost over by now. Almost.
The last week of the month is here.
Nature, at the moment, is in that VERY, VERY boring state between winter and spring.
It is safe to say that it is kind of ugly, sorry nature.
BUT, you--dear nature-- will bounce back. Pretty soon you will get dressed in your most beautiful queen regalia of full spring!
Yes, today I am going to show you UGLY. How it is right now outside where I live.
We could still get a big snow storm ( HOWEVER, I hope NOT) and it can still get bitter cold.
Spring is less than a month away.
Pretty soon we will be turning our backs on the winter of 2016. Hey winter 2016, you were a weird one.
One for the books, to tell you the truth.
I took the pictures in today’s post during my walk yesterday.
Ugly, ugly nature.
The season that my daughter does not like at ALL.
This is here and now.
The temp was around 37 degrees F, or 3 C.
It felt milder than that.
Yesterday's high hit 50 degrees F, or 10 C.
Well, come along and let us look at UGLY.
This is my closest pool. Right now it looks ... Plain ugly.
One of the paths where I walk. Is it November, or is it February? It could be either ...
However, November is prettier than this.
The snow piles linger on. They wont budge. Yet. This is the Elementary School near my house.
ON the sidewalks as well. UGLY. Ugly as sin!
A week ago this was ice porn. Now it is ... NOTHING.
Yeah, yeah. yeah....yada, yada, yada...
Is this a toaster? NO, it is for the power lines. In Reston all the power lines are buried underground (THANK YOU FOR THAT!!), so these little "toasters" can be seen here and there in the landscape. They don't bother me. I happen to have one pretty close to my house as well.
In the grayness of a Monday morn ...
A bit of ice lingers around the shores. Ugly? Sure ...
These ducks, tho ...
A flower bed awaits spring.
Bonjour Tristesse! Ummm ... Yeah, whoever kept their Christmas tree way too long. Not cool in my book.
NO bath for me ...
Pretty little corner ...or?
Well, in a couple of weeks these bushes should be ALL dressed in yellow. They are forsythias. Now they are, you guessed it; UGLY.
Not much to say about these. Either.
But, alas, it is easy to find something pretty as well. Sure it is. You all know that I happen to find prettiness in most things. This post is more of a little wink ...
Outside my house. Snowdrops.
Mondays are trash days. Ugly? uhu ...
BUT the daffodils are fighting for their right to bloom!
Big fat sigh ...
