As you all know, I love fall!
I love the change of the seasons. Always.
I think I particularly love when summer gives way for autumn.
Don't misunderstand me, I love summer. But, I also think that the summer season is a bit too long, hot and humid here in the DC-area. When fall comes around the corner, the days turn clearer, cooler, crispier and "bluer".
You also all know that I spent a good chunk of the late summer/early fall in Sweden and Finland.
One morning when I woke up in the summer house the air was thick with fog. Especially over the water. I could not even see the island of Ledören on the other side of the sound.
I decided to take a little bike tour in the early, quiet, Monday morning hour on our "island" Börsskär in the archipelago. The summer houses that I passed with my bike this morning were mainly empty and quiet. Summer was over, people were back at work. Monday morning, still ways to go before the weekend.
You know, moments like these...
I love them, I cherish them.
These are "Annika-times", at their best. Me and nature, a perfect combo!
The sun is trying to "burn thru" the fog...it succeeded an hour later.
Early fall in nature.
My bike is waiting for me while I am photographing.
Well, how can you not love roads like these??
The sound in the fog, Ledörssundet.
I am back at our dock again. The fog is really giving way for another sunny fall day. Just lovely.
Can you see the elves and fairies dance on the water?
Lovely early fall.
This week in Washington we are expecting loads of rain and grayness. It is OK in a way. I don't mind it so much.
I am preparing my deck, and my little garden, for fall now.
Have a good one, people!!
