Today, I am going to go all CRAY and do my Thursday bullets on a Tuesday.
Mix it up a bit, if you will!
Every Thursday I write my blog post in bullets.
I have done so for years now, it feels like. Yes, it is a very effective way of blogging, and I do recommend it to other bloggers out there.
So, here goes!
Yes, the days are chilly now. They really are. Sure, we get sun and all that lovely stuff, but the temps are on the very low side.
Yesterday, I was very cold as I was taking my PW. I think the temp hovered around 32 F, or 0 on the centigrade scale.
But, there are some signs of spring here and there.
Here are som iPhone pics that I shot yesterday. Beautiful and calm, but so chilly.
* I really do like this idea!
And, it is popping up at more and more places.
I pass this “little library” when I am taking the route it is on on my PW. It is a place where you can take a book, and then also leave a book.
I love this concept. The first time I saw it was at Elon University. But now I realize that this might be a “movement”. I like it, I like it a lot.
* No power.
Dominion Power cut the power yesterday again. Well, just for a short while, but while the power is out you feel so vulnerable. I mean, what would we do without power? We are all really taking the power source for granted in our daily lives. Without that little thing called electricity, we would have no heat/AC, no internet, no TV, no stove, no light, no washing machine/dryer, no dish washer, no hot water. The list goes on and on and on.
And, when the power has been out for a while, and it returns again, one feels so relieved and happy to have it back!
Is an American cable channel that I really love.
If there is nothing else to watch you can always rely on HGTV, Home and Garden Television.
My latest obsession on HGTV is “Fixer Upper”. A Texas couple (I think they live in Austin) fixes up older houses for their clients. They help the clients finding affordable “fixers uppers” in good neighborhoods. When the clients have closed on their new houses the Texas couple works their magic. And, boy, are they good. Every single house looks great when they are done with it. I really like Chip and Jo (the couple), they are great, funny, humble + that they really do listen to their clients. Sometimes I wish I lived in Austin (uuummmmm...maybe not, after all. TOO far south for me) so that they could help me! HAHA.

* 25 years ago
Yes, 25 years ago!
It’s been 25 years since I came to the US as an au-pair (I’ll write more about that tomorrow, since some of my more recent readers have wondered how I ended up here).
25 years ago I went to the first movie that I watched here in the US. It was Pretty Woman, and I loved IT!! OMG did I love it!!
I think I saw that movie seven times that year. I still remember the movie theatre as well. It was in Pentagon City, in the mall there. Pretty Woman was THE au-pair movie that year, 1990, along with Ghost that I also watched like five times, or so.
Pretty Woman turns 25 these days! I think it is time to re-watch it again. Karolina should see it, for sure. “The king of wishful thinking”, “It must have been love”, “Pretty Woman”, “Songbird”, “Real wild child”….OH the soundtrack of that movie.
And, Julia Robers clothes!!!
-I was in here yesterday, you wouldn’t wait on me. You people work on commission right?
Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.
-In case I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight.
How many of you guys loved this movie???
* SO nice
I love having my own Pretty Girl at home.
It is SO fun having Karolina here. Love every moment of it.
My big, grown up, big, little, tiny girl.
Today we are heading over to her grandparents for lunch. And, in the afternoon I think Karolina and I are heading out to see the movie Cinderella. Yes, we are both curious about that one.
Have a good Tuesday!!!
