No thank you!
It is SO not fun to take power walks right now.
Not at all.
And why IS that?
Well, because of all the snow that is still around.
Sure, the days are mild now, around 52 degrees (12C). But, the temperature drops at night (at least it has up until now) below freezing. Therefore, ice forms over all paths and side walks. SO not fun!
I went out walking for over an hour yesterday, but It was SO much black ice that it was an awful experience. I had to concentrate on every single step I took.
The sidewalks (the paths are cleared) are not really taken care of either, so sometimes I have to walk on a road.
What it all comes down to is, the power walks will have to wait until more snow has melted (AND that should be VERY soon). Or, I will have to change my routine: I will have to walk in the afternoons instead of in the mornings. The afternoons are free of ice on the paths due to the warm temps during the day.
THAT is a hard thing to change for a person like me, MISS Set-In-My-Ways and Miss Creature-of- Habit.
Anyway, I am tired of the remaining snow.
I want it GONE!!
I was looking at my old pics.
I was wondering; HOW did it look around March, 10 in previous years? Let’s have a a look, shall we!
I'll begin to show you pics from when my blog was brand new. Well, in March 2007 I had been a blogger for 8 months. But, here is an array of pics from March in 2007-March in 2015.
It is, indeed, a mix of everything....
FIRST, here are a couple of pics that I shot yesterday!
Reston, 9 March 2015. Icebound lakes.
View from my deck yesterday. Let me tell you though, in the afternoon we reached 63 degrees F (17C). So the snow is melting fast, fast, fast...

A nice spring day in Georgetown. Karolina was 10 years old. When the blog was new I did not take THAT many pictures. I did not have a very good camera back then either. So that is part of the reason.
Around 11 March 2008
"Fika" on the deck...
And a nice walk. The little girl in the pic below is little Karolina...OMG!!!

I was in Sweden the first couple of weeks of March 2009, but this is how it looked when I returned home again. Pretty lovely.
Around 8-10 March 2010
This looks pretty normal for March around here. Yes, even to have a "fika" on the deck.

AND, check this out! This feels almost unreal. WAS it really like this three years ago! WOOOW!!!
I cannot believe that the Magnolia had started to bloom!

This is not pretty. This was around March 10. Yikes...
Well, I guess this time of the year indeed IS tricky!!
Around 6-17 March 2014
Last year, yes last year. A true Polar Vortex Winter.
The first two pics are taken around 10 of March last year. Looks pretty darn good to me!
Yo, fika again!!
BUT, on S:t Patrick's Day, March 17, we had a winter storm. And a big one at that. SO depressing. I remember it VERY well, of course.
So, that is how the cookie crumbles.
As always, I take the weather as it comes. Whatever cards the weather gods are dealing me, I'll try to play the best that I can.
Have a good Tuesday!
