Morning, you people!!
Another weekend has passed, another week is upon us.
The spring holiday season is lining up in Europe. NOT so much here. Tonight you guys are celebrating the Walpurgis night (Valborg).
Believe you me, no such things in this part of the world.
Then you guys have May Day! The first of May.
And in a while you all have Ascension Day.
This seems to be the new normal. TWO Fridays in a row and the same thing: Tornado warnings. It is getting old. No, no tornado materialized this time, thankful again!
The loveliness in nature as I write this.
May Day as in Labor Day!
No such things here. NO, of course not.
“Socialist stuff” like that is a no go here in da US of A. WAAAAY too out there, hahaha.
But, we do have a Labor Day, mind you. However, in September. Yes, it has to do with workers and unions here as well, but in a more low key different kind of way.
And to be honest, these days I think we all just observe--and enjoy-- Labor Day in the US as the official end of summer. NOTHING else.
You all, enjoy your holiday.
We will carry on here on this side of the pond.
Do I miss Walpurgis and May Day? Sure, I miss all celebrations that we do not have here. But, it is OK. I do not really miss these two ALL that much :-)
Peter and I on Saturday night.
The weekend was good.
Peter and I had plans to paint our deck on Sunday. BUT, it was raining hard the night before so that was a no go.
So, yes, instead I did paint half of the deck yesterday.
I am planning on taking on the rest of the deck this afternoon.
I am sooooo ready for deck season to start.
It is the golden season of the azaleas.
Nature is still lovely in bloom.
Now it is the time of the azaleas.
They are lovely when they bloom. And, around here you’ll find azaleas in abundance.
Today, I am heading out to get my hair hight-lighted and cut. Again.
It feels like I am at the hair stylist’s all the time.
It is way too expensive and way too time consuming, it really is, but ...
This never ending maintenance.
But … alas, I’ll continue with this for a bit longer (until it is time to go gray for reals)
Have a good Tuesday in your neck of the WOODS. Enjoy your Walpurgis!
