As I am writing this post, I am sitting at Starbucks in nearby Fox Mill.
I am sitting here because there is a scheduled power outage at home at this time.
(However, they did not turn off the power today either. I get so tired)
It is sort of fun sitting at Starbucks every once in a while.
I like the smell of coffee, I like hearing the baristas taking the orders.
I like the coffee machines.
It is also sort of funny to watch the people that are standing in line waiting for their cup of Joe.
ALL of them are busy staring at their smart phones. Every single one.
They are just standing there, heads down, checking out their iPhones or Samsungs or whatever phone they might have.
What did we all do before the smart phones came in to our lives?
Did we just stand there? Haha, the HORROR!!!
But, the place is buzzing with activity.
Behind me a job interview is taking place.
People are chatting, music is playing.
Today is St. Patricks Day!
St. Patricks Day is huge in the US!
There is a saying; On Saint Patricks Day everybody is Irish!
There is some truth to that!
Today “you have to wear” green, or you will get pinched.
Today’s the day when you can get green beer, green mashed potatoes etc at the pubs and bars.
Tonight people WILL party.
Peter and I? Well, maybe we’ll venture out for a beer? Who knows?
Wild and crazy as we are!!
It might happen ;-)

During the day today, Lotta and I are heading to Georgetown.
The weather will be great, so it’ll be a good day to be in that cozy part of DC.
The reason we are going is because I have to renew my Swedish passport.
I am lucky, lucky to live in metro-DC! The embassy (located in Georgetown) is the only place where Swedes in the US can renew their passports. You can no longer renew them at the Swedish consulates around the country. No, you have to travel to DC in order to do so. VERY inconvenient for A LOT of Swedish people in this HUGE country. But, very convenient or me! I can literally just jump on the metro and be there in 40-50 minutes.
However, today we are driving.
Yes, one can renew one’s passport in Sweden as well. But my passport is expiring in May so I better do it now. I find it SO irritating that you have to renew your passports every five years.
Lotta and I will have breakfast and lunch in Georgetown. Maybe we’ll have a glass of (green?) wine as well.
Another thing, ALL the snow is gone, gone, gone around here.
It feels SOOOO good.
Spring it is!!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!
