This Week: Obsessions
The B family is on a hunt, a hunt for a certain game consol named the Wii system. It is an absolute impossible task because it is nowhere to be found.
The Wii was the Christmas gift of the year the past season, and it is still impossible to get a hold of it.
I know, because I’ve been out looking, I’ve been out hunting and I’ve been out asking---EVERYWHERE!!!
I am usually not a game nerd at all. Usually I think most games are quite boring and too time consuming and I lose interest pretty much right away, but this time around I am really craving the Wii-system.
Most of all I am looking forward to play the American Idol game. I want to sing, and I want to get judged by the three judges (OOOHHH YESS). Peter is looking forward to start playing Guitar Hero, and Karolina wants Mario games like there is no tomorrow.
The HUNT is on!!
The funny thing is that all the electronic stores around here are clueless on when their next shipment of Wii consoles are coming in. They are totally stumped. The standard answer to my question is:
“Oh we have no idea when they might show up…”
How can that be? How can they not know?
Anyway, now we are on a waiting list for the system at a nearby store. Needless to say the staff at said store has no idea when we can actually get the game. It can be a couple of days; it can be a couple of weeks or maybe a couple of months.
Karolina is on pins and needles and she can hardly control herself. She even dreams about it at night. I really hope we can get a hold of the system soon.
I cannot wait to belt out songs! O how fun it is going to be.
One of my best friends, Anette in Sweden, owns and loves the Sony Playstation game of “Singstar”. I have never played it, but I’ve been looking at it at stores. Anette says it is so much fun to play it. I surely believe her! I want to play it, too.
But, I don’t think I’ll be brave enough to play and sing along with “American Idol” together with friends, at least not from the get-go. I have to have some time to try it out by myself first:-). You can only take Simon’s harsh criticism when you are truly and utterly alone.
If I am doing well then I can sing in front of others, maybe…or maybe NOT…
Guys, right now you can watch the TV-show "Dancing with the stars" here in the US (you guys in Sweden know what I mean when I say “Let’s dance”. “Let’s Dance” is the name of the Swedish version, sounds Swedish doesn’t it?), a favorite show of mine.
BUT I am telling you. You’ll find some pretty scary stuff there…
Take this 62 year old lady for example…
Now, would you not call this when face-lifting and botox and collagen go way wrong? She could be the anti-ad for people not to get botox and face lifts…JEEZ, how ugly, how scary, how awful.
Yet again I am asking myself: What is wrong with aging with grace? What forces a grown woman to start going into face-lifting absurdum? Yes, it does happen to men as well. Last year we were able to “enjoy” this man on Dancing with the stars…
SCARY…Pretty soon they can re-name parts of the show to dancing with the ghosts.
Well, I think most of you know how I feel about cosmetic surgery. SO, therefore I’ll stop my rambling right here on that subject.
BUT, I do wish you all a good Tuesday!
