Hello! Good morning!
You will never, ever find me complaining about cold weather, ice or snow. Never.
I can promise you that much.
When it is winter, I want it to BE winter. What you--however-- will find me complaining about is mild temperatures and rain once it is winter.
When I shot these pics it was SO cold. Absolutely bitter cold, and windy to top it all off.
Friday sunrise in my neck of the woods.
I just love the ice.
We’ve been having a fantastic polar vortex weekend here in my neck of the woods. I have enjoyed it so MUCH!
Sun, ice and snow! What is NOT to love.
My hubby on this very, cold and windy Saturday morning walk (13 C, or 8 F. Windchill -21 C, or -6 F) . We had breakfast at Starbuck's and then we continued our wintery stroll.
Ice, ice baby!
This is the PERFECT skating ice!!
I’m the kind of wife who will drag her hubby out of bed in the early morning to go walking. Hubby is used to this, and he does not mind too much, polar vortex or not.
Peter’s game, and he likes to get his steps in and be outside as well. And, we do dress well.
YOU cannot say that about everybody ...
Yup, yup true story. Classic sight in my neck of the forest, dudes in shorts despite the record bitter cold weather. I don't know, this is just so super freaky weird in my book. WHO wants to even venture out dressed like this in Arctic temps? These dudes apparently. Well, I don't even know what to say. BUT, you'll see dudes like this ALL winter long where I live.
Me and my hubster. Hubster looks like a robber, I know ...
So, it’s been a lot of walking this weekend.
And, also a lot of just hanging out. The way it should be.
The polar vortex is about to leave us. Yes, I find that sad. I will miss it tremendously. Most people will draw a sigh of relief now, they are looking forward to milder temps. I, on the other hand, will draw a sigh of sadness.
But, my hope is that the cold, snow and ice will come back to us.
The Reston lakes are frozen solid. I have seen so many pics this weekend of people skating and walking on the ice here in Reston. Lovely! It’s been so long since these lakes were frozen over.
It is refreshing and fun to see the ice, and to see people enjoy these frozen lakes.
I hope your weekend was a good one.
Have a nice Tuesday!
