Yes, life is changing. Peter and I have to deal with the fact that we have an independent teenager in the house. A teenager with lots of friends and with fully booked weekends, more or less.
It is so nice for her to have such a great circle of friends, and we are so happy for her.
We have a “family room” in the basement that is more or less never used. Except for Karolina’s sleep-over’s. It feels like a room with no use.
Now we have decided to turn that room into a” teenage” room. A room where Karolina and her friends can hang out, watch TV etc.
We’re also planning on getting a couple of sleeper couches down there and turn it into a new guest-room as well.
I think it will be a cozy place to hang out for the teen-crowd.
Peter and I just have to get to work on turning a boring room into a cozy and inviting place.
When we are more ready to MOVE on this project I’ll definitely show “before and after” pictures.
A small problem, the “independent” thirteen year old is not ready to give up some of the toys that are still in that room. There is the doll house that peter and his dad built for Karolina when she was little (NO, I will not give that away, just store it elsewhere). She is not ready to see all her Barbie’s go. Or some other dear old toys she no longer plays with…
She’s stuck between being kind of little and kind of big.
Maybe I am stuck, too, since I don’t really move on with this project.
Oh well life goes on.
And, it’s a fun ride.
All right, another day with 52 degree (12 degrees C) is coming up. It’ll be a nice, long PW today again.
They do me good, for both heart and soul!
Check out this youtube video that Karolina and her good friend Madi made yesterday. I guess the girls are having plans on making this a regular “show “now. I find it so funny, but I am the mom, so I am immune, and have no say. But, you should all take a look, or so I think ;-)
Have a good Tuesday!
