In bullets this very day.
* My arm
Yes, I can understand that it was shocking for you all to see the pics I posted of my arm on Thursday.
Yet, I am glad I did show you the damage.
And yes, a cup of tea CAN and WILL do this to you if you are not careful.
A big mug—and boiling water straight from the water boiler—can severely hurt you!
My arm is better now, but not even close to good. I have to continue this treatment, and cover my arm in layers upon layers of bandaging until at least Friday.
Sometimes my arm hurts really bad. At other times it feels fine.
The nights are better now.
I am not taking any more narcotics.
The silvadene (a cream consisting of silver sulfadiazine) has to be applied with care. That cream will prevent infections , and with that comes sepsis. Sepsis is a huge risk when you burn a big part of your body. My body has a 9% burn.
I am mostly scared of the infections, and of course I am really scared of sepsis.
Anyhoooo, it is getting better. But it is still so tiring and so hard everything. I drove to the dentist yesterday, he’s located about ten minutes from my house. Rough drive, peeps, rough drive on my arm. It was aching and throbbing while driving.
I am so tired of this.
I’ll show you some pics on Thursday again. I warn you, it is STILL gross!!
So, we picked up our girl!
She was so prepared for our arrival. Everything was packed, she had cleared and cleaned her room, and a lot of her belongings were already put in storage ready for the next apartment and the upcoming school year.
I could not help her AT all with the move. Peter, Karolina and Austin were carrying all the bags to the car in very hot weather.
Elon was as pretty as always. It is hard to believe that Karolina only has ONE more year to go. I felt sentimental walking around campus. Graduation was about to take place, and the whole campus was decked out for that ceremony. One more year until we will travel down to Karolina's commencement. And after that, no more Elon for us.
Yes, it IS sad!!
Elon campus in the evening sun
You may not know this, but the whole campus is a registered botanical garden. I love, love, love just walking around it and checking out trees, bushes and flowers. This is a Japanese Stewertia tree, just so incredible lovely!
Graduation this year took place on May, 20.
* Jimmy Buffett
Jimmy Buffett is a super popular American singer/song writer. He’s music is HUGE in the US. He’s songs are mainly beach, vacation and summer songs. And, everybody knows them!! He’s like a combo of Gyllene Tider, Tomas Ledin and Ted Gärdestad put into one person.
Summer galore in his songs, and party galore.
People of ALL ages love HIM!!
We went to see him play at Nissan Pavillion here in NoVA on Saturday night. Nissan Pavillion is an outdoor venue, and it was packed. Almost scary!!
The most fun part of the concert was the tail gating beforehand. People party it up in the parking lot with picnics, bar-b-cues and drinks! And music.
The concert itself was way too packed, and we found the last spot on the lawn, or so it felt. We lasted a little more than an hour. I would love to see JB again, but then I will have to have a better spot. I do like his music, I do like him. I learned to like him after I moved to the US. Jimmy Buffett has a HUGE fan base, and they are all called Parrotheads.
This is his most famous song! When he sings this song the crowd goes completely nuts. It is a true American summer/beach classic! I think almost every American knows this song by heart.
Another classic! Yes, the dude himself is almost 71 years old. Still rocking it for all ages!
* The weather ...
... Is coolish again now. No more 95 degree days (35C) in the foreseeable future. And, that is fine with me.
Now it is around 21 C (70F) a bit gray and cloudy.
It looks warmer towards the end of the week.
Abundant roses everywhere in Elon
AND, one of my favorites of all time; the Southern Magnolia! The Southern Magnolia is a huge, green tree with windy branches and flowers as big as dinner plates. And to top it all off, the flowers smell like the grandest perfume!
I hope you all had a wonderful and good weekend!
And, the young couple will mark the end to this post.
