It’s been a while since the last time I wrote on this blog.
But, now I am back in Bloglandia again.
I hope all is good with y’all.
SO, there was no Anna Maria Island, Florida trip for us. Nope, that one we had to cancel due to tropical storm Alberto. As I stated earlier, they even called us from the hotel and told us not to come.
We did not go.
Instead we went to nearby Ocean City in Maryland. NOT one of my favorite beaches, by far. But, it is the closest one.
This is how it looks, hotel complex upon hotel complex. SOOOO not my tune ...
We did play our mediocre cards as good as we could while out there. And, we had some nice days, regardless. However, I told Peter ever so often; this place is sucking all the energy out of me.
As I said, we did the best.
We drank nice drinks. We ate good food. We walked a lot. AND, we had a good time in our little family unit of three.
THAT was the best thing.
Down on the boardwalk. And here we can talk crazy in every regard. We walked the entire boardwalk. Back and forth. That gave us some good steps.
Foggy, misty and so gray. Not a very crowded beach.
This is all the sun that I was seeing, a bleak orb over the sound ...
The weather was not on our side. At all.
It was coolish, foggy, overcast and gray the entire time. It rained a bit every now and then as well.
I do not know the last time I saw the sun? I don’t know, this is such a weird, weird time of the year weather wise. I am telling you, the weather HAS shifted. The climate change IS real.
There is no denial when it comes to that.
I cannot WAIT to see the sun again, to have a long stretch of dry and sunny days. This crap is starting to eat me …
Meanwhile, you Scandies are enjoying the most incredible weather!! Enjoy it!! I also know that it is not so easy to deal with all the time. It is hard to get by without AC.
As you all know, AC is what saves us here during the summers.
And, of course, we usually have it hotter than you guys. Right now we are having the same temps as y'all. BUT while we are having rain and grayness you guys have SUNNY and dry conditions.
Oh well, this too shall pass (the boring weather over here, I mean).
The stone pier on the southern most point of Ocean City. My favorite part.
And, all these ice cream shacks.
Saturday we hosted Karolina’s graduation party. A lot of work led up to that one, naturally. BUT, it was such nice evening.
And, the rain was pouring and the thunder was thundering. What else is NEW??? We could not be outside at all. It was like hosting a Christmas party, haha.
But, there were a lot of people going deep sea fishing despite the weather.
The old life saving station is cute.
All right, back to reality again. Peter is heading out to Nebraska again this evening.
Karolina is working and I am back to my writing.
Even though it was so gray and misty it was NOT cold. Not at all.
Seacrets, one of the most famous bars on the eastern seaboard. It is huge, almost all of it is located outdoors. SO many different bars within the place, so many "secret" little corners. And yes, you can sit out in the water as well. BUT, when we were there it was cold and misty. Not the kind of dream situation you'd like at a bar like this one. BUT, the previous Saturday there had been a line to Seacrets. People were waiting SIX hours to get in. SIX!!! Sometimes people ARE nuts. I would never, ever wait in line to get into a bar for six hours.
Have a nice Tuesday!!
Can you imagine hanging here on a hot summer day.
The palm trees are planted. Palm trees do not naturally grow this far north. South Carolina is the first state to the south where you can find palm trees growing naturally (and those palm trees in SC are tiny).
