Top of the morning to you all this very Tuesday!
I hope you guys all had a very good weekend.
And, I also hope you all are taking this new week in stride.
Peter and I had a nice Saturday and Sunday.
The weather was HOT. Very, very HOT and humid. It is so unseasonably warm right now.
We hiked here in Reston on Saturday, on nature trails in the area. I APPRECIATE living in Reston SO VERY MUCH!
I love the paths and trail systems we have more than I can ever express.
I can be out and about whenever I feel like it. And, I can walk for hours upon hours.
However, the TRUE highlight of the weekend was the annual Swedish crayfish party hosted by our good friends, Lotta and Magnus here in Reston.
It is an honor to be invited to this party every year!
The spread of food is UN-believable and it tastes so GOOD!
Them crayfish really DO play second fiddle here, uhu they do. You bet, because Lotta is nothing but a Masterchef, and her food is to die for.
I can just eat, eat and eat.
Look at these dudes!!
The table is beautifully set and ready to go.
Also, that true party atmosphere took off right away.
Sure, we all know each other so very well. And, of course, that is a big plus!
Another successful crayfish party is over and out. After checking my diaries (my dairies have helped me SOOOO many times for different reasons) it has been an annual tradition since 2003! Many more to come, I hope!!
When it was time for the seating arrangements the guys sang Swedish songs for the ladies. We had to pair up the Swedish song with the Swedish artist. SO fun!! Some of the American dudes had no clue what songs they sang for us. Like Peter, he got "öppna din dörr" by Tommy Nilsson! HAHA!! I have taped the guys singing, but I am not posting it here! ;-)
WE, the Swedes! Lotta, Sara, myself, Monica, Veronica and Anna. (these two pics belong to Anna)
Susanna has joined in here as well.
SO, thank you, Lotta and Magnus, ever so much for this years party!!
Liv with her parents, Anna and Jocke.
On the deck! IT WAS SOOOOOOO warm outside (of course it was!!!)
Lotta's fab dishes!!
Sunday, NO hang-overs, thank GOD!! So Peter and I took a hot walk as well, and we finished up watching The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu.
That series, my friends, that series is so VERY good!
Susanna and Peter.
Kids, have a very nice September Tuesday!
Susanna's birthday cake, made by Lotta of course! SO nice! Susanna had a big birthday back in July.
