As most of you know, I take a power walk almost every morning during the week.
These PW's are more than just PW's. I so enjoy being outside in the early morning. Usually, I listen to a Swedish radio show on my iPhone, I also tend to snap a pic, or two, with said (lovely) phone.
The nature is wonderful, and I am so thankful to live in a place where I have all this right around the corner.
It is now early fall, or late summer. I don't know how you pick to see it, but I call this early fall. Sometimes I call it Indian Summer, if the weather is really warm.
The mornings are cool now, the days are warm. It is usually sunny.
Yesterday, I grabbed my Canon as I walked outside. So, today you dear readers, will be able to come with me on a PW.
As you all can see in the pics there are hardly any signs of autumn yet, but in a month it will look a bit different. I will take you on another walk then.
Where: The Lake Thoreau loop in Reston
Temperature: 14 degrees C.
Weather conditions: Sunny and calm
Oh the sun! I think there are few things that are lovelier than a morning walk in the middle of September.
This is Lake Thoreau. And, if you look closely you can see a swimmer in the lake. It looked so serene as I walked by. I almost felt like jumping in myself. BUT, it was quite cool, and I could even see my breath in the cold morning air.
September morn, and floating verandas!
That sun again, filtered thru all the leaves and branches.
More floating verandas in the morning mist...
On a clear day you can really see forever...
The golf course! Yes, this is the golf course I live right next to. Thankful!
I know, I've said it many times before; BUT, I so appreciate the fact that I am able to live right here! To live in this green, leafy suburb so close to Washington DC! I am thankful that my house backs to a golf course. I am thankful that it is so quiet in my neighborhood. I am also so HAPPY that I have SO much to pick from here. I have the metro stop just 20 minutes away, I have all the stores I can ever imagine, I have restaurants and bars pretty much around the corner. I probably have 10 different grocery stores within a ten minute drive from my house. I have Farmer's Markets, and I have the mountains (and the true country side) so close. There are Vineyards nearby. I have walking paths everywhere. I am just SO thankful to be able to call Reston my home.
Now it is time for me to take a different walk, but in the very same area.
I wish you all a great day!!
