I hope your weekend was a good one.
Mine was good, lots of work, good food and good company.
Just the way I like it.
As I start my walk I get greeted by my neighbors cherry trees. The blossoms are still there ...
The sun rises around 06:49 these days ...
Crab apple blooms. LOVE them!!
Spring seems to be a bit on the late side this year.
No, we did not have any winter to speak of. At all.
But, the cold snap we had three weeks ago really did us in.
I pass by Lake Thoreau this morning. I am on my way to "my" other lake, Lake Audubon.
Do you see the purple tree? THAT is one of my favorite blooming spring trees, it is an eastern redbud tree, and I am in love with them!!
This is the way the eastern redbud blooms.
I took a walk yesterday morning, as I always do in the mornings.
Yesterday morning I brought my Canon along.
Here are the pics that I shot.
Lake Audubon around 8:00 yesterday.
The cherry trees are holding up ...
... SO pretty in the early morning sun.
As you can see, the winter colors are still dominant. But, the blooming power is so strong.
However, I cannot wait for the green leaves. I love the look of light green leaves. My favorite spring color.
I hope you all are doing great!
Yes, this would be a nice place to hang out at ...
OH, my dear friends, when these buds are in bloom Yours Truly is a HAPPY gal! This is a dogwood tree. And dogwoods, well, they are pretty much the prettiest thing you can see! (so glad they did not take a beating during the cold snap).
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!
Yes, yes more greenery PLEASE!!
I am looking down on the northern shore of Lake Audubon from the top of the hill.
Those crab apple trees, tho!
Eastern redbuds are coming on strong! More, more, more!!
