It’s been a holiday weekend here in the US.
Memorial Day weekend.
It is the un-official start of the summer season.
And, Karolina has left for Los Angeles.
And, yes, she is established in her apartment in Burbank.
Today, they’ll get their rental cars. Tomorrow, they all start their internships.
Classes start soon as well.
So far so good.
It is strange that Karolina is so far away, but I think she’ll have the summer of her life.
Karolina is checking herself in.
Dumping off the luggage while daddy looks on ...
... And there she goes thru security ...
It was hard, without a doubt, to bid farewell at Dulles Airport. No, I could not hold the tears back.
Karolina was brave, of course.
We tracked her flights all day long. I am thankful for all the apps and sights where you can follow exactly where the plane is.
Well, we’ll see her at the end of July again.
Saturday night was spent on the deck grilling burgers. It was the National day of the burger, after all.
So good. I love burgers, and especially Peter’s burgers. YUM!!
The weather has been so great all weekend long as well.
We are so thankful for that.
The pools are open now. It IS summer.
I have to get my pool pass since I’ll be here all summer long.
I am wearing shorts again, haha.
We are also swearing and cursing that is is so hot and stuffy on the third level of our house. You know, where the bedrooms are.
In other words, it is as it always is in the summer.
The AC is not working so well on the upper level. But, we have fans and that is a big help.
Yesterday we took our longest hike to date.
BUT, I’ll tell you all more about that hike in tomorrow’s post.
Instagram pic from Sunday's hike ...
I wish you a lovely Tuesday!!
