Grey, old days in the DC-area right now.
Kind of depressing? Yes.
Usually grey and rainy days do not faze me, but even I get a little down (in the spring) if it rains for more than a week.
However--and I know this-- we need the rain.
That being said, I am really looking forward to sunny, clear and blue days again.
Yesterday, I grabbed my Canon when the sun peaked out for some hours. Actually, it shone on us the entire afternoon (WOOT)!
Yes, I better snap some pics when I have a chance to do so.
Saturday was the big planting and fixing day in my tiny front yard.
I was late in fixing up the tiny front (täppan) for the summer season this year.
But, now it IS done and done. It feels so great.
Now I cannot wait to have breakfast out there, to hang in the front after my walks, to have a chat with a friend there.
Sip some wine, or maybe enjoy an Aperol Spritz, on a hot summer night.
I am a bit in love with my tiny, little front space. By the moment.
As am I with my deck. In love.
The deck has western exposure, and it is very private.
A perfect place to hang out in the evening sun while grilling, chatting and sipping prosecco.
My front yard has eastern exposure. So it makes it perfect for those early mornings when I reflect there with a cup of Joe in my hand.
It is also the place to sit if you feel like chatting with the neighbors. Täppan is a great place to hang out on if you think the evening sun is too harsh on the deck.
THAT rarely happens though. We have so many great, big trees shadowing the deck.
Yes, sometimes I find renewed love for my outdoor spaces. Sometimes I fall OUT in love with them all. Right now I am IN love!!
Have a very good Tuesday!
Oh, and the current weather situation in my neck of the woods? Well, grey and rainy … What else is..?
I have to have an hibiscus plant. LOVE those flowers!
My bistro table. If any of you ever turn around the corner on that little path leading up to my little town house and see me sit by my little table, step into my little yard by the golf course and have a cup of coffee with me, the little old middle aged woman.
Oh, and here you'll find owls and fairies ...
My bench. You know how I always deck it out come Halloween, Christmas and spring!
OH, and I will have stunning peonies very, very soon!
I love peonies SO much!!
Wherever you look you can find a little something ...
... Like a gnome ...
Roses, yes I have them.
Well, hello, how are you!
That tiny little bistro table where we can enjoy a chat with a cup of coffee, tea, icetea, wine, prosecco or whatever YOU want to sip!
Some ducks are good to have. Or, maybe these are geese? I hope it is NOT the Canadian kind. We have way too many of them as it is already! NUFF, Canada geese, NUFF!! GO somewhere else but Reston ;-)
