No snow to speak of during the entire winter. So far. I also think it's been kind of mild (no, let me call it damp).
Sure, we have had out share of really cold days, of course. But still...
Sunday it was downright balmy here.
Sometimes during the winter months the Mid-Atlantic states can get really warm days, and then we are talking temps around 70 degrees F (around 20C).
The warm days tend to pop up every now and then. Although, I have to say that "the pop-up-days" have been more rare in the last couple of years.
But, alas, Sunday was one of those days.
It was so warm.
19 C, or 68 on the Fahrenheit scale.
Peter and I took a long walk. So nice.
We were not alone on the paths. People were really out and about.
The landscape right now IS very wintery (even if we are lacking snow by the moment).
You'll find the typical winter colors in nature, or maybe I should say "the no-colors". It is gray, brown, beige and rusty.
Karolina has always disliked winter so much because of the bleak landscape and the washed out colors.
I find it soothing.
Here are some pics from our walk.
This is a path right outside my neighborhood. You've seen this path in pics many times before. But, I think this is the first time I've been taking a pic of it during the "blah-season".
Into the woods...We are lucky to have so many walking paths to pick from. They are everywhere (55 miles altogether. 88,5 kilometers). So we can pick and choose. Then we have an array of wooded paths as well. Yes, I like it here...
The ice on the lakes is still around...
This path goes thru the neighborhoods along the shores of Lake Audubon.
This is an interesting townhome community, The Wharf.
And, the sun started to set over the Lake.
Yes, just keep on trying to break the ice with the rocks, kids :-)
So, a nice walk it was.
Yesterday the gloomy weather returned again. It was so damp, cold and gray.
No, I am not done with snow and ice. I just WANT a real winter storm now. Bring it ON!!!
Have a nice day!!!
