Friday is the first day of the first month of spring.
If I am ready?
Sure, bring it on!
At the same time, I am kinda pissed at the winter we never really had.
Oh yes, sure, we had plenty of ice cold days. Plenty of those. Yes, sure I am thankful for them.
But, we were lacking snow storms and blizzards.
We had a couple of paltry storms, but nothing “to write home about”, and nothing the schools would close for.
Yes, you can say it sucked.
Oh well, it is not much to do about it now. Now it is (almost) spring time, and after the First of March I would like to NOT see a single snow flurry!
You can go away now, winter. It is way too late.
You were so pitiful anyway.
I am about to go out now and search for signs of spring.
I think the Crocuses will start to bloom soon, the Forsythia and so on and so forth.
I will embrace it ALL!
There are planty of awesome things to look forward to in March.
Yes, spring itself, naturally.
But, also a bunch of good dinners that I already know will happen.
A trip to a university.
Karolina’s first real SAT-test (not so much to look forward to maybe, but...).
A couple of birthdays (not so much to look forward to either anymore, but...).
to top it all OFF; a wonderful vistit from wonderful people that I love so much!
Here is a medley of pictures from this paltry winter. Pics taken from December 2012 to Februari 2013.
One little sad storm came between Christmas and New Year. Karolina and I took advantage of the day
SO many picture perfect early morning walks for Yours Truly
A mild, foggy day was spent in Old Town Alexandria.
A beautiful day in DC, the day before President Obama's second Inauguration.
I learnt how to over-expose pictures in snow. This is another sad little system of snow that we had.
There has not really been a shortage of ice-porn this winter. I like it!
And, to tell you the truth it is never, ever a shortage on blue, clear days either. We do get our vitamin D even in the death of winter here in the Mid-Atlantic states.
Sometimes it all feels like a looooong fall...October-March...
I'd say the sunny days dominate.
And it makes for lovely photo walks.
BUT, luckily we do have our gray days as well. If I did not have gray days in my life I'd be a much sadder person. I thrive on cloudy days. I need a good mix of sun and clouds.
This is an Annika kind of a day!
Have a lovely Tuesday, dearest readers!
Yes, I am starting to look forward to a lovely SPRING now!!
