Come with me!

Good morning Tuesday!!

I hope you all have had a good weekend.
Over on this side of the pond it has been a good one.
Valentine’s on Friday.
A long, cold walk on Saturday morning.
A nice dinner with a great friend on Saturday night.
Yes people, gotta love the weekends.
I don’t mind the week days at all either, for that matter.
I gladly take it all!

Sunday Peter and I took a long walk down by the mighty Potomac River. The hike we took is an oldie, but a goldie.
A true and tried hike along the river, from River Bend Park to Great Falls National Park.

On the banks of the old Potomac River.  Here we are in River Bend Park.  The land on the opposite side of the river is the state of Maryland.

Here the river is calm and quiet.

These are the true colors of winter ...

A steep stair of roots.  When walking here I cannot help to think about when the American indians ruled this land.  The nature, and the river, must have looked pretty much the same some 500 years ago.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again,
I am so LUCKY to have all these trails within easy access to where I live.
To have all this nature around the corner is truly nothing but a blessing to me.
Yes, I am SO very thankful for it.

BUT, now we're nearing the more turbulent parts of the Potomac.  Notice the differences in this pic?  CALM and unruly.  These are the little falls.

A calm little creek next to the river as we enter Great Falls National Park.

THE Great Falls!!

Come with me and let’s hike this hike together thru my camera lens.
The photos are all taken with my old and (sometimes) tired iPhone 7. BUT, I did not feel like dragging my big Canon DSLR along.

I love this place.  It always gets me!  SO majestic and so cool!

THIS part of the river is not for fun and games.  In average about seven people lose their lives here every year.  Some of them might walk too far out on the cliffs,  fall in and stand no chance.
Others are kayakers that might have tried a bit too hard.
There are warnings signs posted everywhere.

… AAAAND, guess who’s home!!! Karolina!
YES she is! For three whole days!

Have a great and good Tuesday!

Kramar!

Beautiful scenery no matter the dullness of winter. It is great having all great trails nearby. Such a Mecca for the nature lover. Nice to have Karolina home for a few days!

Elisabeth;

Humlan;
