Good morning Tuesday people!!
Time for the weekend update.
We did get our first frost of the season. Friday morning was like a dream here in my neck of the woods. Frosty, calm, the perfect sunrise over steaming lakes.
Oh, it was sight for sore eyes. Stunning.
I’ll show you all some pictures later in the week.
Yesterday morning was much of the same. Frosty, calm and steam over lakes.
My kind of morning.
The perfect way to kick off a new week.
Saturday the weather was totally fine, around 60 F (15C) and a mix of clouds and sun.
My good friend, Susanna, suggested a visit to one of “our” many vineyards around here. Sure, Peter and I were game, and off we went.
Wine with a view ...
... Just like this ...
We went to Hillsborough Winery in Hillsboro here in Northern Virginia. I have been to this winery once before, and I like it. A lot.
You have beautiful views of the rolling hills, you’ll see farms, lakes and mountain ridges. The wine is decent, and the food is good.
It is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Tasty food pairings.
I am so very thankful that we have soooo many wineries here. I love it. No, not because of the wine quality. It is all due to the coziness factor and the beauty surrounding all these vineyards.
It is a perfect fall outing.
There are a lot of breweries around here as well, and even whiskey distilleries. More and more seem to be popping up each year.
Blue ridge mountains in the background.
Yes, this winery is family owned as most wineries are around here.
A perfect place to be on a Saturday afternoon.
Fall, this is my favorite season of the year. I just LOVE this season for so many reasons.
It is MY season. True Annika. Very Yours Truly.
I wish it would last much longer than it does.
September, October and November just fly away. And then-- *BOOM*--it is Christmas …
We are on a vineyard after all.
Hydrangeas are beautiful even after the bloom.
Susanna and the valley.
I hope you all had a lot of fun the previous weekend.
Have a nice Tuesday now!
