From almost 90 F on Friday (31C) to 50 degrees today (10C).
THAT is what we have to deal with right now.
Spring, I guess. April, for sure. The weather is taking us all on a roller coaster ride. For sure.
Buckle up and hold on tight!
My weekend, though!
Friday was SO very warm! Unbelievable.
My neighbor Marty invited us for some wine and cheese underneath her cherry tree. It was so nice and lovely to hang out there underneath the blossoms during the warm April evening.
Just lovely. Promises of the nice seasons that are upon us
Friday night in my neck of the woods ...
Saturday morning we took off for Elon early in the morning.
We got to our destination around lunch time.
The dogwoods in full bloom!
All the azaleas were blooming as well. SO lovely!
Yes, indeed, in Elon it was hot as well.
Spring has progressed so much further there than it has here. It was lovely to see. It is almost summer down in North Carolina. Or, so it felt and and so it looks.
Dogwoods, how I love thee ...
The kwanzaan cherries are almost singing on their last tune this spring. BUT, here in Reston they haven't even started to bloom yet. Good, I love them!!
Blooming trees and flowers everywhere!
This will be my NOW here in Reston very soon. I think it’ll look like this here in less than a week, depending on the temperatures, for sure.
It felt both good and sentimental to be back in Elon at this time. This was our last real visit there. When we go down next time--in a month to be exact-- it will be for Karolina’s graduation. This is strange, it really IS.
WHAT just happened?
I walked around feeling a bit blue and happy at the same time.
Elon has really delivered these four years.
It has been the best university that our daughter could have picked. A good program, a beautiful school, lots of golden memories and a place to love.
It was a short visit this time around.
We did see Twelfth Night, and the kids are just awesome in it. It is just like seeing a professional play.
Bravo, that is all I can say!
No more performances for us, or Karolina, at Elon now.
It is all said and done now.
Now we are bracing ourselves for the next chapter of our lives.
Henry, Pete and Cindy outside the Center for the Arts.
Have a good Tuesday!!
Keith and Peter after the show! HAHA!
